I see what you’re saying, but a guy has got to pay the bills. Did you consider that he’s doing those ads because after his run Hollywood blackballed him and he’s not getting jobs. Just something to think about.

There is nothing illegitimate about reverse mortgages or about acting.

He wants to be free to run for President, which he could not do as Majority Leader.

I have no problem with Fred’s acting. I rather liked his roles.
However, reverse mortgages are a bad deal for the homeowner, which is why there’s so much advertising for them. If you’d like to discuss the financial issues, I’d be happy to do so.

They may not be a good deal for you, but in a free market neither you nor I should be able to force our opinions on others.

I’m not forcing my opinion on anyone—I didn’t say that reverse mortgages should be forbidden. Nor did I say that Fred should be forbidden from making commercials for them.
What I did say is that his doing so diminishes his status in my eyes. Maybe you don’t mind.

None the less, I believe the majority leader can block bills from coming to a vote.
What I would like to understand is where does he get that authority from. Is it House/Senate rules? Decide by whom? How can that be changed? These people have totally forgot that they need to do what we the people have put them there to do.

He’s a smart guy. Why cause immediate disunity within the Party when there’s work to do?

Have you ever been a loan originator/officer? Are you familiar with what a reverse mortgage actually is?

Sounds to me like some back door goings on with the RNC bosses. Will he be a real candidate in 2016 or a sacrificial lamb to make Jeb “act of love” Bush look like a moderate for the unwashed squishy middle.
To: JRandomFreeper
I think Sessions would be great in that position.

However, reverse mortgages are a bad deal for the homeowner, which is why theres so much advertising for them. If youd like to discuss the financial issues, Id be happy to do so.I have zero debt, and 100% home equity and recently did a reverse mortgage.
I get over $1,500/month, tax free, which means I can take $1,500/month less from my 401K which saves me about $ 3,000 a year income tax.
My 401K will last longer, my income stays the same, and I save taxes, I retain home ownership, and the monthly income last as long as I live in this house.
How is that a "bad deal"?

Good! Let Cruz stand behind Boehner... very closely, so he can watch every move he makes, and every breath he exhales is felt on his neck.

Thompson would have made a great President. Not a Reagan, but nevertheless a top tier leader. We would have few problems overseas with him at the helm, and the economy would be a whole lot better.
Certainly better than McStain or Romney, let alone the Communist Moslem and his freak show of a cabinet
