EDINBURG, Texas — Attorney General and gubernatorial candidate Greg Abbott said he is preparing to sue the Obama administration to recuperate the money spent by the state dealing with the recent border crisis.
He made the claim on Friday evening when he faced off against his Democratic opponent Wendy Davis during the first gubernatorial debate which was held near the Texas-Mexico border.
According to Abbott, the Obama administration failed to secure the border and prevent the immigration surge that resulted in a humanitarian crisis and became a financial burden on the state and the municipalities of the Texas border.
During the debate, Davis said she supported the law enforcement surge the Texas Department of Public Safety sent additional troopers to the area to help deal with border security; however she questioned the validity of sending the National Guard which doesn’t have arresting powers in Texas.
The debate was the first of its kind between the two candidates and it was the first gubernatorial debate held in South Texas, an area with a large Hispanic population.
One of the topics where the two candidates traded jabs came when the issue of voter ID was brought up. Davis accused Abbott of bringing up an issue that discriminated against minorities by limiting their access to vote....

Yeah, I get it. I really do. But it is a stunt that will waste taxpayer money and will drag on for years.
I hate stunts even if I agree with the cause. They end up biting oyu in the a** in the end.

After the debate, neither side made any difference. Both sides and supporters thought “their” side won. Of course Abortion Barbie is despised here more than not.
Thus (this time), Abbot wins the Governorship.
But we have damn too many liberal economic refugees from California who are too stupid to see it is their ideology that killed the economy and will vote to kill it here.
I am a true Conservative refugee and am pleased mine was a vote that put Cruz into the Senate.
But I worry about my adopted State of Texas.
We need to bring hundreds of thousands, nay millions of conservatives here from places that are becoming authoritarian (New York, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Illinois, Maryland, California, etc.) to tip the scales.
He didn’t. The State of Texas needs to figure out their position.
Greg Abbott and Rick Perry are not one in the same. Abbott is an ally of Ted Cruz.
Texas wants to sue the US to recover costs incurred by Texas dealing with illegal immigration, while at the same time Texas entices and rewards illegal immigrants with in-state tuition.
By the way I didn’t mean “you” personally, I meant Abbot
I would sue Zer0 personally if that is possible. I would also sue him to recover the national debt he fed to his dependent voters.
Cruz will settle the lawsuit and pay Texas the money the first 24 hours he is in office along with a thousand other settlement items related to the reign of the Obama Marxists.
Phone call will go something like this “uh, Greg, send us the settlement papers through docu-sign .....I will sign them and wire the money”.
Case closed.
