You can draw the historical comparisons as easily as I can, so I wont bore you with them. Simple question instead: Should we cut this guy some slack for slobbering this way knowing that hes just trying to make amends for jeopardizing his wifes career? Huma was, and probably still is, a lock for membership in the White House inner circle if Hillary wins in 2016. The only baggage that might get her booted is you-know-whos habit of doing you-know-what. If, after two years of public humiliation, Weiner wants to make it up to her by keeping a straight face while saying something like this on TV, who among us would fault him? Everyone atones in their own way. This guy just happens to do it by insisting that his wifes boss is arguably more impressive than, say, Dwight Eisenhower. Or even John Kerry.
Plus, its hard to single Weiner out for criticism knowing that, as implausible as it may seem, this same surreal claim will be repeated endlessly in various forms by Democrats during the next campaign. The more people notice that Hillary, despite having moved in the highest circles of power for more than 20 years, has virtually nothing to show for it in terms of policy, the more frantically her credentials will be touted. Former first lady. Senator. Secretary of State. She racked up hundreds of thousands of miles in the air in her diplomatic travels. Hundreds of thousands more than any other Secretary of State. Right?
Put aside the fact that the more than any secretary of state part isnt actually true Condi Rice flew more. When you ask, Okay, what did she get for it? you get a blank stare or you get some stuff about championing womens rights. Two people have told me she did good work in Myanmar, but Ive never really gotten to the bottom of that. I suppose I could look it up, but at the end of the day were still talking about Myanmar, which is not the locus of Americas most pressing international problems. (Thats right, because Hillary prevented the Myanmarese hegemony, someone at MSNBC just shrieked. She stopped it cold.) While the Wikipedia page on her tenure doesnt even mention Myanmar, it does mention her championing of better cook stoves in the Third World. Thats good. And so is improving the plight of women in various countries where their status ranges between Slightly More Important than the Village Mule to So Incredibly Delicate We Must Keep Them Covered with Burlap Sacks All Day Long Even Though Its Like 115 Degrees in the Shade Today.
Ive been saying for a while, if by a while you mean two decades, that Hillary Clinton has never lived up to the hype. She wasnt an effective senator, she was effective at managing her image as a senator. She wasnt an effective manager; HillaryCare was a paper behemoth that never even came up for a vote, but nonetheless helped her party lose control of the U.S. Congress. She isnt a great politician; shes the wife of one. Shes not even charismatic
The fascination, the excitement, the thrill of Hillary Clinton is like a psychological potluck dinner for liberal Democrats and the Washington press corps: They bring their own. All she provides is the venue.
Her chief accomplishment as SoS wasnt Myanmar, it was adding a new credential that would help expunge her Iraq vote in the eyes of the left. Theyll still resist her in the primaries, at least at first, but now shes got a ready answer if/when shes accused of being too quick to choose war: If theres anyone who understands the value of diplomacy, its a former head of the State Department. Shes built relationships with foreign leaders (and built upon relationships that Bill had built years before). Jaw-jaw, not war-war. You can trust her now, at least enough not to disqualify her over old business.
And as for the new business that might theoretically disqualify her, her friends in the media know how to handle that. Click the image to watch.

I should suddenly care what Weiner thinks?
Yeah, we trust your judgement, you perverted basta*d.
Reference that photo, did you see this nonsense?
The Political Solar System: Forget the Hillary New York Times Magazine cover.

Gee, thanks a lot. What an idiot.
LOL.
Now, I’m really going to call this one a night!
God bless and keep you, dearest 2ndDivisionVet.
P.S. Of course that silly composer of that thing, can’t omit Sarah Palin.
She lives in their heads 24/7. LOL.
Good night, hon.
Same old story whatever Dim is running is the most qualified or smartest candidate in history. Whoever is the GOP candidate is dumb. Yawn.
Emphasis on arguably. I’ve read some of the liberal comments in various places and Hillary should worry. Each newer liberal generation is less likely to vote for an old liberal when younger ones come available. She is seen as establishment.
Weiner is aptly named.
The sad thing about Weiner’s take on the Hildebeast is that the Zer0 Infobots will vote for her. Their decision will not be based upon her competency as Secretary of State. It will be based upon putting a woman in the Presidency. It will also be done to make up for the poor choice they made for Zer0. These yahoos will make it that simple.
Bill Clinton officiated at Anthony Weiner’s so-called wedding to the daughter of one of the top Muslim Brotherhood leaders. All can agree that that was not a marriage made in heaven, but it seems by the Clintons. First the Clinton’s marry off their daughter to a Jewish guy, then they marry off Hillary’s Saudi Muslim closest aide and advisor Huma Abedin to a half-Jewish Senator, yet another road to the seats of U.S. power over foreign policy. Without the Clintons, the disgraced Anthony Weiner is a man without a benefactor. The Clintons were a stepping stone. Now they are now his only hope. He made a pact with the devils. Disgraced, but still married to “Huma Huma, I’m a Muslim,” he’s tied as never before to the Clintons. If they say “Jump,” he has no choice but to say “How high?”
“Huma was, and probably still is, a lock for membership in the White House inner circle if Hillary wins in 2016.’
Taking over the Reggie Love Chair no doubt.
As ridiculous as Weener sounds, it is frightening that someone might actually believe what he says. Who will look to see that Hillary was a horrible first lady, a useless Senator, and a complete failure as Secretary of State? America is weaker than it has ever been. Our foreign policy and foreign relations are in a shambles, and Hillary ain’t in no way tiurd of screwing things up.
The good news is, we know where to adjust our fire now.
Carlos is still sending pics......
