The Ghost of Mitt Romney Returns
Yahoo! News / The Atlantic Wire ^ | November 3, 2013 | Connor Simpson

Former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney returned to the Sunday shows almost exactly one year since he lost the election to Barack Obama, only to attack the President and call his second term into question. The former Republican politician wasted no time attacking the President over his rocky Obamacare roll out during his appearance on NBC's Meet the Press. "The president failed to learn the lessons that came from the experience in Massachusetts," Romney said, repeating that he thinks a state-by-state healthcare plan would work better.

Romney then launched into a greater attack on the President's "you can keep your insurance" controversy. "Perhaps the most important lesson the president, I think, failed to learn was, you have to tell the American people the truth," he said. "And when he told the American people that you could keep your health insurance if you wanted to keep that plan, period, he said that time and again, he wasn't telling the truth. And I think that fundamental dishonesty has really put in peril the whole foundation of his second term." Romney thinks the guy elected to lead the country instead of him is no longer fit to lead. "The fact that the president sold it on a basis that was not true has undermined the foundation of his second term. I think it's rotting it away," Romney said. "We've got to have a president that can lead, and right now he's not able to do so." The former Massachusetts governor also praised Chris Christie.....

Romney is a third-party forcer.

Quite true.

Worst of all — Romney was pushing Chris Christie for the Republican nominee for 2016.

I voted against Obama, not for Mitt.

(Yeah, and were it to be that Mormon Harry Reid chose to switch parties and then run in the 2016 GoP primaries...and beat them out as the conservatives all knock each other off...you would probably vote against Hillary...or whoever, not for Harry, right?)

See how that goes?

You wind up eventually having Gator's kids & grandkids vote for GoP candidates well to the left of Obama...why? Because the Dems will ALWAYS be more liberal.

(Thanks, DFW, for teaching this RINO-like utilitarian pragmatic political ethic to our young people...!)

He also considered Portman for his V.P. pick.

“I'm not MItt guy, and I don't think Romney Care is a good idea or ever was….but our Founders professed a profound difference in local versus centralized Federal govermmnet….”

You're right but I don't believe they professed a desire for socialism. The state represents force and unless the people were allowed to choose whether they wanted to join the state run plan it's unacceptable. Also, the state shouldn't in any way fund such a program, if they do it's still a redistribution of wealth and socialism.

That may be true…but I still stand by my point. The awards for hating Mitt the most will not be given out any more, so you can quit trying.

Romney care is bad, but I’m sorry, you are not on intellectual ground to say it EQUALS Obama care and you are not on solid intellectual ground about voting for socialized medicine. You just arent.

The fact that you cannot understand that they are different, and pointing out such does not make one for either of them, speaks to your own shortcomings.

It's a common mistake made by many on FR.

I suspect it is mostly a result of flying fingers vs intent.

please stop trying to inject common sense into any conversation regarding Romney. They were looking for an excuse and by golly they’ll grab on to anything to justify it.

The awards for hating Mitt the most will not be given out any more, so you can quit trying.

LOL.

So, by posting a political cartoon that pointed out that Mitt has swapped positions many times, "I be hatin' me some Mitt", eh?

Your "assumption" that I hate Mitt, coupled with the classic leftist "you just be hatin' on (fill in the blank)" comment clearly shows your willingness to use leftist attack methods to "stand by your point".

not at all…you did not post in a vacuum…..you posted as a response to a certain question with the past two years of FR anti Mtt posting as a backdrop….moreover, as a response, you begged a straw argument as well.

Nice try...
