New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is swatting down criticism from GOP ranks that he isn’t conservative enough, saying in an interview airing Friday that he’s a “damn good Republican.”
“Is it a fair question to ask that if you ran as a Republican for president of the United States, what Republican Party do you see that would support your candidacy out there right now? How would you survive a primary process on the current set-up of the Republican Party?” NBC’s Brian Williams asked Christie, who is considered to be mulling a 2016 run.
“Listen, I think very well. I’ll worry about the presidency if and when I ever decide to run for it. But if you’re saying to me, ‘How do I feel as a Republican?’ I’m a damn good Republican and a good conservative Republican who believes in the things that I believe in,” Christie answered....

As today’s bed-wetting Republicrats go, I’ll agree with Christie.
Christie, I’ll agree that indeed, you are damned...and given the sorry state of the Repulsican party...perhaps you are even one of “them”.
But you are most certainly NOT one of us.

If you have to tell people then there's obviously there is a problem.
If he means GOP-e then yes.
But he’s no conservative, or REAL republican.
If you judge Republicans by McCain and Graham, Christie is right, he is right there among them.
The man had a doctor cut him open and place a restrictive collar around his gut to keep him from physically shoving any more food into his face.

As he gazes into the mirror each morning Chris Christie starts his day be trying to convince himself by repeating: ‘I’m a damn good republican, I’m a damn good republican, I’m a damn good republican..............
No. If you have to proclaim you are something (conservative, trustworthy, etc. ) them you are not. If you really are, people will know by your words and actions, you won’t have to tell them.
He might make the late, great Byrd look like a piker.
