I want my money back.
Last October, I gave $2,500 to support Heidi Heitkamps campaign to become North Dakotas junior senator. A few weeks later, she won a surprise victory.
I have had a long career in government and politics, but I dont donate heavily to political campaigns. When I contribute, its because I know the candidate well or am really impressed with the person. Heidi Heitkamp was one of the latter: She struck me as strong-willed, principled and an independent thinker.
But this week, Heitkamp betrayed those hopes.
She voted to block legislation to make gun background checks more comprehensive. Her vote along with those of 41 Republicans and three other Democrats was a key reason the measure fell short of the 60 votes needed for passage.
Polling has shown that nine in 10 Americans and eight in 10 gun owners support a law to require every buyer to go through a background check on every gun sale. In North Dakota, the support was even higher: 94 percent. Yet in explaining her vote, Heitkamp had the gall to say that she heard overwhelmingly from the people of North Dakota and had to listen to them and vote no. It seems more likely that she heard from the gun lobby and chose to listen to it instead.....

What a ridiculous concept. Congresscritters paying attention to the little people, indeed! Daley knows very well that they should only pay attention to the people that pay for them.

Swiss grandfathers?
“You dont like the 2nd. Amenement?
Maybe you should move to somewhere that doesnt have a 2nd. Amendment.”
The Constitution provides the mechanism for eliminating amendments. It is unfortunate the pro 2nd amendment forces have not demanded the anti-gun forces go through the amendment process instead of the legislative process. It should be the first response from pro 2nd amendment advocates. “Don’t like the 2nd Amendment, amend the Constitution.”
These libs always use this simple explanation especially in quoting poll numbers. They never what to discuss the second and third order of effects associated with so called extending background checks. That is the way they handle all issues. They think most of us are just emotional morons or low information voters. Ummm, the more I think about that they may be right. :-(
Does Daley think $2500 will buy a Senator. If so, I want one.
Is this Bill Daley from Chicago?
the scion of the corruptocrat nepotistic Daley family that ruled Chicago into its continuing social degneration into the murder capital of the midwest?
where was the love for gun control in Chicago, Billy?
cripes, in Chicago $2500 wont even buy a property tax downzoning
Master Daley is having a bit of a problem with some of his plantation slaves. This rebellion and independent thinking must be dealt with before others start getting crazy ideas about freedom.
Obama Campaign To Go After Pro-Gun Democratic Senators
21 April 2013
The clash between Democratic Party supporters and opponents of the Second Amendment of the Bill of Rights is turning into a civil war as the Obama Campaign is preparing to target Democratic Senators who support the Second Amendment.
Obama sending out his political hit squad after Senators from his own party who dissented from him on one bill is creepy. The eternal campaign is not only being used to target Republicans, but its even being used to perpetrate Night of the Long Knives purges within his own party.
Hey Bill Daley, if Heidi Heitkamp gives you back the $2,500.00 donation, will you have Obama give the taxpayers back all the money that he gave to his friends for political favors? Come now Bill we want it back right now with interest compounded daily?
Bill daley such a whiney baby from the Chicago Political machine. How is that machine working in DC, Bill, strong arm tactics, threats and pay to play. Suddenly the Democrats are not playing along with the Chicago machine in DC.
