CBS evening news spent 15 minutes on this “monster storm” and zero on Benghazi. now you see this is all fake?
What a load of BS.Democrats don’t vote. Its been observed time and again if it rains the dems stay home.
Bring it on.
I had a similar thought.
What’s a Roland Martin?
He’ll just raise his hand and calm the storm, looking much more than presidential.
The media did their best to tear Bush and FEMA down in 2005.
This time they will double/triple their effort to praise Obama and ensure his success.
>>> It was a collision of pure luck that a Jr. Senator whos only previous accomplishment was ....
It was a COLLUSION of pure F*ck that a Jr. Senator who’s only previous accomplishment was ....
giving a speech at Kerry’s convention.
There, FIFY.
I can't believe that someone who's been reading here since 2004, is still cowering in fear about such ridiculous nonsense.
There is simply no excuse for being ignorant of how our election process really works. The POTUS cannot - I repeat, CANNOT suspend a national election. If you're honestly frightened of such a possibility, then why on earth aren't you reading up on this subject in the FR archives? If you were, you wouldn't be throwing around this needlessly alarming notion.
He doesn't have the power to nullify a national election. Stop spreading this alarmist horse crap.
Don’t be lulled into a false sense of security. It can happen. As I said, the safeguards of the Constitution don’t mean jack to Obama and his henchmen. They could try anything. Whether they succeed or not may come down to ordinary citizens. Why do you think sales of guns and ammo have skyrocketed recently?
My goodness. Such hostility. Simmer down.
That's a failure of a response. Posting that Obama might (or even could) shut down the election is alarmist and destructive. Especially this close to election day. If you truly do have that fear, then do as I suggested, and read up on this subject in the FR archives.
Really Roland? I beg to disagree. Republicans will swim across the flood waters after they walk over hot coals and crawl across broken glass to cast their votes against the commie POS.
Friend, you're a member of a web community which has more accurate data at its fingertips than any other. That you would stand there being petrified about a development which has close to 0.0% chance of occurring, is only due to the fact that you're not availing yourself of that vast treasure trove of knowledge.
The federal government doesn't control national elections - the states do. Washington has no authority in the matter, and the POTUS cannot just arbitrarily cancel the elections. If he tried, he'd be arrested on treason charges, and the VP would immediately step in in his stead. That's the way our system of gov't works. And it would work that way, due to the ammo sales you mentioned.
If the states control the elections, then how is it that they are being pressured by the feds into accepting UN observers?
You quote theory. The actual practice is much different.
By the way, I’m not petrified. But I believe in being prepared for anything. I put nothing past this administration. This president has gotten away with so many things that are illegal, immoral and unconstitutional. The various federal departments, such as Justice, ate corrupted beyond repair. Congress doesn’t have the balls. And the courts are useless. So I urge you to be vigilant and be prepared
If?
Prove that you're not really lazy, and go look it up. Jimminy H. Cricket...
I also worry that folks in Va or NC etc ..the Romney voters...will make up excuses not to get to the polls...football game on, sore back, have to clean up the yard, too rainy, too cool.....
People better get to the polls and vote.....
we can't let that crook stay in office...
So what about the rest of my question? Did you not hear about the UN observers? What is your explanation? Can the federal government force the states to allow these observers at the polls?
I don’t mind that you disagree with me, but how about acting like a grownup and giving me a decent answer? Or if you don’t have an answer, just say so.
Ohio will not be affected by Sandy, Phillie may be screwed up enough that Western Penn. will carry the state for Mitt. In the same way, rain/damage in Northern VA, the DC suburbs, may suppress the Obama vote. The entire path of the storm is in Obama’s heartland. We'd written the whole thing off, except maybe NH, so it cannot hurt—possibly help.
Hope you're right about PA. Unfortunately, there are still quite a few idiots in the big cities who will still vote for Obama. In Pittsburgh, for example, there was a pro-Obama event featuring Bruce Springsteen. Looked like a bunch of union types in attendance, and some of the attendees were interviewed by the local media. It was sickening. I hope, however, that these are a noisy minority and that most will have seen the light and won't vote to re-elect Obama. It's just not easy to predict.
One factor which might help Romney is that unlike in 2008, the Obama campaign isn't actively arranging transportation for voters here. I'm sure there will be a few buses organized by unions, but it won't be on the same scale as in 2008. Particularly if the weather is bad on Election Day, I doubt that many Obama supporters will make the effort to secure their own transportation to the polls. The entitlement mentality is still prevalent here.
