Check out the headline below from the Hill dated Aug. 12. Governor Sarah Palin endorsed Sarah Steelman in Missouri and not Todd Akin:
(GRAPHIC AT LINK)
(In light of the very weird political drama unfolding right now in Missouri, Governor Sarah Palins endorsement of Sarah Steelman sure seems politically wiser than the endorsement of Rep Todd Akin! I dont know anything about Steelman I did not follow the race closely but I cant imagine anyone could be a more difficult candidate for the Republican Party than Akin. He potentially hands the race to his political opponent Sen Claire McCaskill plus supplies the Democratic Party with more ammo supporting their assertion that there is a Republican war on women. I’d say Brunner’s and Steelman’s supporters both do. If I were those two, I’d work something out between themselves and the party.
I dream of a party of thinking adults where the right to life of a rapists' child is less valuable than the financial enslavement of an entire generation of the children of good, decent Christian people.
But that is just my little fantasy.
Now we know why Missouri is the Show Me state. With their stupid open primary, the Mo. GOP has shown how to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory and very probably cost the GOP control of the Senate, absolutely crucial to the future of the country. We deserved better.
Absolutely nothing to stop a D asking for an R ballot, and it's all (sadly) entirely legal.
The democraps are drooling too much over this
They are already talking it up like they have won because of one stupid thig a Republican says, but the GOP are NOT getting 100% defacto support for tossing him under the bus
In fact, it seems like A lot of people are starting to get PO’s that the democraps can say anything, but if a GOP candidate is less than perfect- out we toss them.
And it is not sitting well, with me included.
I dont like what he said any more than anyone else here, but it is not like he advocates killing babies who survive an abortion (like Obama) or votes to protect partial birth abortion (like Obama)
IF Akin survies this he need to turn it onto an attack on the baby killers - He said something stupid- they kiull babies- which is worse?
And the spineless GOP leadership lets the libs tell us what to do every time we have a hiccup
On Mark Levin’s radio show, the GOP party chair (Reince Priebus) just said that Palin was offered speaking time in the prime time slot (between 8pm-11pm) and she declined citing scheduling issues.
My question was if the voter asks for a Democrat ballot, does it have the choices for the Republican Primary on it? The one response I got on this thread said something about lots of Republicans choosing the Dem ballot in that county because of a Sheriffs race. My question to that is why did the Republicans not field a candidate to run against either Dem?
Now if they were playing “Operation Chaos” against the Dems, just how stupid was that in light of what McCaskill did to throw the race for the Senate to the guy who consistently polled the worst against her of the three?
Again, just how stupid does this whole open primaries thing have to get before those who come from the “Show Me” state begin to get the message that we who live in closed primary states have been trying to show you for so long? We already know that listening is not working.
Akin's MOUTH, and now EGO, is the problem. His conservative record is not the problem.
In the party platform voted on today there is no abortion exception for rape or incest. It mirrors the 2008 language according to FoxNews.
“Mittens & the Boyz” did not endorse Akin. Bachmann did. And Huckabee.
I know, I know.
My other post was mockery of M.A.
Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda, listened to Sarah.
Much better Sarah’s 3rd place candidate than 1st place Akin.
Maybe the Akin buzzard can be dragged across the finish line, but he looks deader than a doornail today.
it was an OPEN primary, communists could vote for republicans. Also the communist claire McCommie spent $2M to support akin winning.

Stress!
But it would all be a matter of timing anyway, much as any pregnancy is.
Oritorily, Aikin and Obama have much in common.
The answer to your question is that a Republican primary ballot only has Republican candidates on it, Democrat primary ballot only has Democrats, etc. There is no party declaration on your voter registration in Missouri, so the election officials do not know the voter’s party affiliation.
I want to point out that Sarah Steelman came in a very close third, less than 0.8% behind Brunner. Here are the totals from the August 7th primary:
Democrat:
McCaskill....100%...289K
Republican:
Akin...36%...217K
Brunner...30%...180K
Steelman...29%...176K
Only Gov Palin can save America. She is our greatest political intellect ever.
I am going to go out on a limb and say that Marie Antoinette and Charlyboy are not fans of Gov Sarah Palin.
Could not help themselves from allowing anybody to say a kind word about her, same goes for all the other folks...who do you think you are kidding
My comment was about Sarah Steelman, not Sarah Palin.
