Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich slammed the elite media for focusing on the contraception controversy that Rush Limbaugh escalated last week instead of reporting on the issues relevant to the campaign.
I am astonished at the desperation of the elite media to avoid rising gas prices, to avoid the presidents apology to religious fanatics in Afghanistan, to avoid a trillion-dollar deficit, to avoid the longest period of unemployment since the Great Depression, and to suddenly decide that Rush Limbaugh is the great national crisis of the week, the former House speaker said Sunday on NBCs Meet the Press.
The controversy erupted after Georgetown University student Sandra Fluke testified before Congress to lobby for the availability of birth control. Limbaugh, who referred to the woman as a slut while commenting on the issue, apologized for his rhetoric on Saturday.
"My choice of words was not the best, and in the attempt to be humorous, I created a national stir," Limbaugh said in a written statement on Saturday. "I sincerely apologize to Ms. Fluke for the insulting word choices."
Gingrich told Meet the Press host David Gregory that it was appropriate for Limbaugh to apologize and hes glad the talk-show host did.
However, he said, there should be no debate access to contraception and he finds the uproar astounding, when so many other major issues are ignored.
This is the most fundamental assault on religious liberty in American history, he said, referring to President Barack Obamas new requirement that insurance companies provide coverage for contraception for employees even at Catholic and other religious institutions that object to birth control as a matter of theology. Its not about access to contraception. It is a question about whether or not a religiously affiliated institution should be coerced by the federal government.

I saw Newt on Meet The Press, then Face the Nation, then Special Edition on CNN and it was magnificent. The media wanted to step in it with both feet so Newt dragged them across and back again head first for a good sniff. By the time he was on CNN he looked like he was enjoying it totally. lol!

Go ahead, love it. It shows a shortcoming in Newt: he doesn't understand reality. Here's the reality: the issues Newt wants to talk about are such old news that they are showing signs of mold. News editors aren't interested in what's important, they are interested in what will attract the reader's -- or watcher's -- attention long enough to bridge their eyeballs in the next ad.
Rush understands reality. In order to keep his audience with him, he has to go and play an unexpected card now and again. Limbaugh's job is "showman", and he's good at it.
So, Professor, it's time to look at your competition, and figure out how to use this inconvenient truth about "news" and "promotion".

I just found this over on the "Right Minds" website...
It seems that the lib talk show host Ed Shultz said this about Laura Ingraham:
"
And what do the Republicans thinking about? Schultz said. Theyre not thinking about their next-door neighbor. Theyre just thinking about how much this is going to cost. President Obama is going to be visiting Joplin, Mo., on Sunday but you know what theyre talking about, like this right-wing slut, whats her name?, Laura Ingraham? Yeah, shes a talk slut
.
"
Below is a screen shot of Shultz's web page, on which CARBONITE is a sponsor...are they dumping Ed Shultz as an advertising outlet as well?

Carbonite is typical of these big corporations that have gone all the way to the left.
No more Carbonite, not for real God-fearing Americans.
