Newt Gingrich has now surged to a significant lead over Mitt Romney in Florida, leading the former front-runner now by 8 points, according to a new poll by InsiderAdvantage completed Sunday night of likely Republican primary voters.
The InsiderAdvantage poll of of 557 registered Republican voters is one of the first polls taken in Florida in the aftermath of Gingrich's double-digit win in the South Carolina primary Saturday.
The poll results follow:
Gingrich: 34%
Romney: 26%
Paul: 13%
Santorum: 11%
Other: 2%
No opinion: 14%
The InsiderAdvantage poll was the first major poll last week to show the significant surge for Gingrich in South Carolina.
"The poll shows a huge bounce for Newt Gingrich, coming out of South Carolina," Matt Towery, chief pollster for InsiderAdvantage told Newsmax. "It reflects the fact that Florida is a bellwether for the rest of the nation."(continued)

Bottom Feeder Santorum is doing his best to slime the hell out of Newt. Hopefully no more upsets will occur. Santorum is everything he accuses Newt of being. I was for Cain originally, then Perry, and now I’ve seen the light on Newt. I still have not forgotten, though, how Santorum has a tendency to lie about whoever happens to be on the top of the polls at any given time.
go Newt
....this thing could be over by Super Tuesday.

From your lips to God’s ears. One question: I love this poll but does FL have an open Primary where anyone can vote or is it an exclusive GOP Primary?
FL is a closed primary. So, no registered Dems or Independents can vote in it AFAIK.
That says, “screw the establishment... the people have a different and better idea.”
It’s a closed primary
I was for Cain originally, then Perry, and now Ive seen the light on Newt.

Glad you finally saw the light. Your first two choices would have been a disaster. Cain must be guilty of the allegations made against him. Why else would he run and hide behind his wife and God and quit the race? And, what did he do with all that campaign money people, whom he deceived, sent to him???? As for Perry, hell, he was polling third down here in Texas behind RINO-Rom and Gingrich.
Yep, you settled on the better candidate.
Exclusively GOP and you had to register 30 days beforehand, IIRC.
Way to go picking on my open wounds
ALL primaries should be CLOSED...no room for ‘shenanigans’...
I disagree with your statements concerning Cain.
I believe that he did get out of the race for his family, especially his wife. There has not been a single shred of evidence that either woman was telling the truth.
As for the campaign funds, I am quite sure that Mr Cain is smarter than to misuse campaign money with the FEC looking over everyone’s shoulder after the John Edwards debacle.
You may not like Mr Cain, and I can respect that. But to smear him with innuendo is what his opponents did to him all along.
Newt is that man.
They will rally to him.
Newt is that man.
They will rally to him.
Cain got out because he was guilty.
Cain did that stupid thing with Colbert.
Look, even when everyone here was for Cain (before Cain there was still hope for Palin), they admitted Newt was the best in the debates. They just didn’t think he could deliver.
I think he got out because he really was only interested in promoting his book. He didn’t expect to hit the big time (remember his answers to foreign policy questions?) and he sure didn’t want to deal with all this crap.
This is amazing.
Maybe now the GOP will stop trying to cram candidates down our throat.
Nah.
I liked Herman Cain. I was an ardent advocate for him. But, I feel betrayed by him. If you’re innocent, you stand and fight like hell and say: “I want to face my accusers” and get in Gloria Allred’s face and say: “Take your best shot b**ch before I sue the hell out of you and your clients.” You don’t run like a scared little girl.
BTW, what is Herman doing with that campaign money; using it to make public appearances with Stephen Colbert? I wonder how much money was paid to those old broads to get them to go away.
