How Bachmann Can Defeat Obama
American Thinker ^ | December 16, 2011 | Daren Jonescu

In a perfect instantiation of green conservatism, the Gingrich campaign has been fuelling a bandwagon entirely on Newt's hot air. It is nearly midnight, however, and therefore almost time for that bandwagon to turn back into a pumpkin (or rather, lemon), which will leave those conservatives who are a little too focused on the manufactured issue of "electability," and who had almost been persuaded to hold their noses and vote for Gingrich, to return to the drawing board in search of someone who can defeat President Obama. They will (and should) ultimately decide that the answer to their quest was standing before them all along, and that it requires no theoretical compromise after all. The answer is to support a genuine and unequivocal conservative, Michele Bachmann.

For while many of the Republican candidates might be able to defeat the disaster that is Obama, Bachmann would be able to do it in a manner most satisfying for conservatives, namely one which draws attention specifically to the nexus between constitutionalism and the moral tradition of American-style individualism.

Agreed. Actual conservative, including opposition to the lunatic amnesty idea. No wonder establishment and many freepers hate her.

Besides, with her I’m sure we will not have sex scandals emerging. With Newt that is guaranteed.

I am sorry, I cannot believe that people are so blinded by ideology as to support someone who run a campaign like Bachmann has.

I agree with her views about 80 to 90% of the time, but if it were only about ideology I would only vote for myself since I agree with myself 100% of the time. She is an intelligent woman who has shown an incredible lack of it in the past 4 months. Every thing out of her mouth is either an insult or a gaffe.

I don't have a problem with people who differ with other candidates like some Freepers, but her attacks have neither been intelligent or constructive. She gets a free pass her on FR on immigration, why I don't understand since she has flopped in 3 months which is a shorter time than the other candidates. She comes off as whinny, vindictive, and infantile.

Only an uninformed idiot would ask such a question.

And only an obvious moron would fail to recognise sarcasm slapping them in the face.

Maybe you're taking some of that Tardasil that Crazy Eyes was babbling about?

she flipped (just over 3 months ago) on immigration yet you still give her a free pass - truly amazing.

she will indeed trounce Zero. So will any of the other Republican candidates,
LOL. I remember when friends of mine said early in 2008: "I don't think Obama has a chance". Well, as they say: "The rest is history."

Ok, so now you’re repeating Rosie O’Donnell’s slander and just a couple of posts before you complained about Bachmann not getting her facts right... Let me guess, you’re a Newt supporter.

Here’s a video for you:

Michele Bachmann has damaged the considerable goodwill she brought into this campaign, with her scorched earth attacks on Gingrich. Gingrich has a record of achievement and real results - not a perfect man, but real conservative results in leadership. She hurt herself by declaring in the debate that Politifact has confirmed that the facts she cites in her attacks are true. Politifact immediately came out and not only contradicted that claim, but cited a majority of cases where her ‘facts’ are not only mostly not true, but quite a few are ‘pants on fire’ false.

If she wants to have future relevance, she should do what is best for her, the party and the country and enter the 2012 Minnesota Senate race against incumbent Sen. Amy Klobuchar.

Klobuchar is an Obama rubber stamp, very liberal and at this point has no strong GOP challenger. Her polling is solid at this point but hasn’t faced any scrutiny.

I liked Michele a lot going into this presidential primary, but she has not made a case that she should be elevated to the presidency at this point in her career. If only she would take all this energy attacking Gingrich and go to her home state and aim at Klobuchar, Michele could do a lot of good for the country and herself by taking back a senate seat. The problem I see is that she would have difficulty and a very tough challenge in a Senate race in her home state. This says a lot about her readiness to compete nationally for the presidency.

You nailed it, which then struck me this way: it certainly seems like most of the Bachmann followers are humorless folks who are very likely to have sarcasm fly right by them. Which also is how MB strikes me too. I think I’ve nailed one of the reasons she rubs me wrong. The woman is absolutely humorless.

Perry, Cain, Newt and even Paul show a sense of humor from time to time. Humor requires certain synapses to fire at certain times and to do so quickly. Hmmm.

She went over the top and claimed he was pro-infanticide. That was an overt lie.

From the article: Gingrich said “our focus should be on why is he (Clinton) stopping this legitimate ban of an inappropriate act, rather than allowing the news media to have a field day trying to divide us.”

Which makes sense. Gee, if only such advice could actually be followed now.

The first way for her to beat him is to get her poll numbers out of single digits!!

What is winning for Newt aside from his knowledge of the issues, a history reference to these issues and solutions is the fact that he has not embraced the continual character assassinations of his colleague's.

Yup.

I just can’t risk our candidate appearing to be so stupid that he somehow makes Obama look smart by comparison, and that’s exactly what would happen if Perry were out candidate.

The thing is, I don’t just want Obama defeated, I want him destroyed and humiliated. I want this myth that Obama is “brilliant” shattered into a million pieces, and Gingrich is just the man to do it.

Ref. your Post #12. As a fellow Texan, I dropped Perry for the same reason as you and went to Newt Gingrich also.

Well, I'm from Florida but I'm with y'all for exactly the same reasons.

“LOL. I remember when friends of mine said early in 2008: “I don’t think Obama has a chance”. Well, as they say: “The rest is history.” “

LOL.

Barry was able to keep his Marxist background undercover in 2008 and it was all Barry worship then, all the time, with white independents gushing over him and telling themselves if they vote for him it will prove to themselves and everyone else that they are not racists (even if Barry and his “reverend” were racists).

Today, Barry is in Jimmy Carter territory and sinking fast.

Though I agree that the welfare crowd and illegals will be out in great numbers, and Barry is amassing $1 billion in legal/illegal campaign cash, he is so toxic that the main question will be how many Dim candidates he destroys down-ticket.

That’s exactly it - Cain, Perry, even Gingrich are personable, come across as people you could actually *talk* to.

Michelle Bachmann seems like a robot who only has two settings: Stupid and Nagging

What’s a ‘Bachmann?’

Michele Bachmann is the antithesis of a philandering, progressive, money grubbing, Freddie-Mac consultant. I surprised you have to ask.
