Sarah Palin doesnt deserve this. Neither does any other similarly situated public figure, whether on the political right, left or in the middle. But worthiness has nothing to do with this, not when theres a chance of driving up book sales and bringing down the celebrity you despise at the same time.
Enter Joe McGinniss.
His new book, The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin, claims that the former Alaska governor and GOP vice presidential candidate had a tryst in 1987 with basketball star Glen Rice when he was in Alaska to play in a tournament with his University of Michigan team. Whether its true or false, the story is making the rounds. Its a shame.
If the book was supposed to be about Sarah Palin, then it should have been about Palin.
This episode isnt. There was no Sarah Palin in 1987. At the time of the Thanksgiving Great Alaska Shootout basketball tournament at the University of Alaska in Anchorage nearly 25 years ago, the 23-year-old woman who allegedly hooked up with Rice was an unmarried TV sports reporter named Sarah Heath.
This has nothing to do with todays Sarah Palin. Its irrelevant and none of our business.
To justify McGinnisss prying eyes, my Post colleague Erik Wemple, who blogs on the media, noted that Palin had indicated in a 2006 Eagle Forum questionnaire that she supported funding abstinence-only education programs instead of teaching sex-education programs. Explicit sex-ed programs will not find my support, Palin reportedly wrote in the conservative groups questionnaire.....

I geuss we now know that the pre-marital sex lives of women politicians is fair game. OK.
No. Slinging mud under the pretense of “vetting” is unconscionable.
Yeah she is a Dem but she is fair which is why I like her
Yes, ineluctable has Palin’s picture next to it in Webster’s. But I have noticed that there seems to be two divergent camps that always react in a diametrically opposite way everytime a mosquitoe like Mcginnis drools into the sewer. Personally I make a vow to redouble my efforts should Sarah ever throw her hat in the ring, but the other camp, the timid and tortured benchwarmers, always think that the end has finally come. Churchill or Chamberlain is ALWAYS the choice. True.
Which spoke volumes about her in more ways than one.
Cheers!
Sorry, but you’re wrong. Obama admitted to his drug use, therefore it is perfectly acceptable to bring it up. No charge is made because the veracity is not questioned. You’re argument is completely without merit.
Now, we're stuck with the result...
He admitted dealing too...
None the less, I often think I see the hand of God in various events and what I believe is His special attention, grace and care for the lives of some.
This will sound crazy, but I believe Sarah Palin is one of those people. To me, that explains much of the evil that's sent against her.
McGinniss appears to be playing for the other team.
As far as I’m concerned he has admitted to high treason when he set about to transform the Republic. I have come to the conclusion that the Constitution does not allow for federal jurisdiction over any citizen of any State. Obama, and most politicians for that matter, believe the exact opposite. But, Obama has taken the position that the feds have ABSOLUTE and COMPLETE jurisdiction in every case. This is treason against the form, function, and theory of a Republic, ergo it precisely treason. What else could treason be?
Anybody who uses the term "PDS" (especially against other republicans) only confirms the statement that Sarah Palin is too "divisive" to win a general election.
PDS = sign of controversy
You may want to rethink your usage of this term.
Obama is making Treason mainstream.
When obama threw Netanyahu and Israel under the bus, we started a rose campaign. We found a florist and sent gazillions of roses to show our support. Why can’t/don’t we do the same for Sarah?
Furthermore, I wasn’t going to post to this, or any other thread ABOUT this anymore because it doesn’t deserve all this space on FR. It doesn’t deserve space anywhere decent people are.
Instead of talking, let’s DO something to show we support her and that has not diminished in any way, shape, or form.
What Sarah accomplished for Alaska in the short time they allowed her to govern, will last for years to come. The pipeline will be there for America's use for decades. Sarah made that happen within 2 short years, something the Good Ole Boys couldn't do in 30 years. One day, those Alaskans and the RINO establishment who turned their backs on her after McLame’s defeat, not hers, will regret those decisions. I would hope that God will give them the clarity to join her, and us to fight for our America.
Sarah loves Alaska and she loves her Country. I pray that she will one more time run into the fight for all of us. God Bless you guys on FreeRepublic. You inspire me to not give up and stick my head in the sand. It would be easy to do, but I just refuse to give up without a fight.
EAGLES UP SARAH!
But it is clear that the overwhelming majority of them are not.
Cheers!
If Sarah were a FReeper, would you want her to read that?
So it seems you hate a spade being called a spade.
you know, McGuiness made his fortune in a book about a doc who supposedly killed his kids (and who ended up convicted from the publicity).
Now I wonder if that case should be reopened. Anyone know?
And I read a comment saying Rice denies the incident. Again, anyone have a link?
I looked up McGinnis in the dictionaary, and found a picture in the entry of a maggot throwing up.
