For months former Alaska governor Sarah Palin has played a "will she, won't she" game over a potential run for the Republican presidential nomination and the right to battle President Barack Obama for the White House.
But, in a strong sign that a run is increasingly unlikely, a growing chorus of Republican figures have now dismissed the idea or openly spoken out against it.
The development reveals a chasm between Palin and many senior figures in the party leadership. But, more worryingly for her supporters, conservative activists and Tea Party figures have also started to turn against Palin running for the nomination.
Criticisms have become much more acute since Palin recently gave heavily hyped speeches in Iowa and New Hampshire, but failed to declare if she was running or not. "There is a difference between talking about running and running. She did not announce, and that sends a strong signal that she is not running," said Scott Reed, a top Republican political consultant and former campaign manager for Bob Dole in his 1996 White House bid.
Reed said that Palin seemed content to give passionate speeches to her fan base but had failed to come up with any concrete policies or set up a viable ground organisation for a future campaign.
"She has not fleshed out her policy positions. She has not set people up in the early states. That suggests she is not serious," Reed said.....

Run Sarah Run!
*so your minions can see you lose.

Since McCain lost, exactly what is it that you mean?
Yes. I know. I agree with you. I did that back in 2008, and would do it again this time around as well. I just want people, if they sincerely vote their beliefs, to vote for the person who speaks and has the track record to back up what they say. If they vote based more on who other people tell them ‘who they think will beat Obama’, then they’re giving up their beliefs in favor of ‘expediency’. If they vote for the person that best mirrors their philosophy, then fine, at least they are being true to their beliefs (be it Ron Paul, Romney, or whomever).
I think the country has already been through this road before. This time, it will only add more fuel to the BACKfire. He's an idiot, and doesn't even know it.
As far as I am concerned, no.
I’m ok if she doesn’t run. Up until her Iowa speech, I didn’t think was going to anyway.
If you sent her money because you want her to run, and then she runs, does that mean you got your money’s worth out of your “donation”?
Even if she does not run I trust her to use the money well. I trust her as a person whether she is a candidate or not. I do have a preference though because I do not trust those that are the front runners.
They are hurting!
I’m sure that most Republican donors are doing what I’m doing:
Returning their mailers with “Holding my money for Sarah” written on them with a sharpie pen.
Only a complete fool would donate to the party after their cave-in on the debt ceiling.

LOL ! !
Get ready for President Sarah, Scott.
Highly unlikely. I suspect she won't win a single primary.
Just received my second Republican *survey* (Disguised donation request) Monday. Received one 2 months ago.
Wrote across it with a wide marker pen "No more Rinos, go tea party!!".
Same thing I wrote on the first one.
Wonder if I'll get another one in a couple of months?
Sarah should just endorse Michelle. Or if Michelle collapses she should endorse Sarah.
We need a conservative alliance to combat the Mitt & Rick Axis of RINOs.
A bit early to announce the zot season, eh what?
