No, I didn't post this in Bloggers & Personal because I feel that Mark America's commentary is on a par with the best of what we find at mainstream conservative sites.

There's no advertising on his site, and not even a tip jar, that I can find. I posted an excerpt. You can see the rest of this article at the link.

She hasn’t got a chance. She quit in Alaska. “If she thinks that was to tough wait til she becomes president”. That is all they have to say once she officially gets into the race.

The problem is that if the media narrative about a person is based on lies, in the longer run, those lies lose effectiveness as people learn the truth from other sources, and worse yet, the lies come back to haunt their purveyors because once the audience, having originally believed them, in the second instance realizes they’ve been scammed, they will thereafter no longer be inclined to believe another pronouncement given voice by that source.

Absolute rubbish! If this were true George Bush would be utterly exonerated for the calumny: "Bush lied and people died." But if you take a poll of the American people today, a substantial number will tell you that Bush lied to get us into the Iraq war about weapons of mass destruction. Karl Rove says that the biggest mistake in the Bush administration was George Bush's decision not to go on a public relations campaign to put aside that lie. Compare that with how Bill Clinton handled the impeachment. Was it Mark Twain or George Washington who said: "A lie will be halfway around the world before the truth can pull it's boots on."

It is much more difficult to disabuse people of their opinion then it is to convince them in the first place. Hence the aphorism, you only get one chance to make a first impression. Politics is not fair, it is ruthless. Electoral contests, like the battlefield, is not a place to play catch-up.

The general electorate is not comprised of political junkies like us who will scour the Internet to disprove a lie about George Bush's military service or exhaustively examine into the bona fides of a birth certificate. They will hear a sound bite or see a bumper sticker and draw a lifelong conclusion.

If you try to disturb their fixed opinion they will resent you.

I don't know whether Sarah Palin can overcome these obstacles to her electability but in making that judgment none of us should be confused by nonsense like this.

I as you know am a big palin supporter. But he’s wrong. The average lib or apolitical American considers her a joke. They learned this on tv. Her name is spoken in a scornful tone. That ain’t nothing. She truly has a very hard road ahead. The media did not destroy Sarah, true. But they did successfully destroy her image in the minds of many americAns.

The work that should not be denied is her strategy to reach those very people. Her advantage : the media perception created of her is absolutely a lie. Americans hate to be fooled. They were fooled by the glory of the Obamacle. Sarah has to o ercome. She can. But let’s not pretend it will be easy.

Windflier, thanks for posting a bit of my article. I’ve been pretty busy lately, and haven’t been back over here in a week or so. Thanks for the compliment. You’re right: I actually paid extra to dispense with advertising, so I make no gain whatsoever by clicks, except I suppose a wider exposure. I decided I didn’t want to annoy my readers much more than I wanted some modest revenue stream of some sort for the inconvenience and eye-poking nature of most advertising on the Internet. Thanks for noticing. Of course, there’s the big ugly with the hat on the left margin, but you’ll just have to deal with that. Don’t whine. I have to LIVE with that...LOL Thanks! Mark

The truth is Sarah Palin still has the stink of Juan McLaim on her..

She has tried to wash it off... BUT the stink is strong.. very very strong..
Supporting Orin Hatch doesn’t help either.. the odor of Romney is ripe.. suggest staying away from him..

I like Sarah but she MUST wash off if she intends to run...
Bachmann seems to be a bit more careful.. maybe she has a better nose..

Did not the mainstream media shill for every Democrat in the 2010 elections, and have virtually no impact on the outcomes?

The lessons of the 2010 elections have clearly been lost on the liberal side, as they continue to provide the electorate that repudiated them even more reasons to turn out against them in 2012. But should we on the right not heed the sea-change that occurred, relative to the media's ability to persuade? I am not advocating complacency here, but we're about to choose a candidate in arguably the most important election in our young history.

Both the 2010 elections and recent polls show that independents have come our way in droves, despite being the target audience of the media, despite the lies proffered on a daily basis, since the 2010's.

The main-stream media sold us a monumental bill of goods in Barack Obama. This is now recognized fact by most sentient beings on both sides of the divide, and in the politically apathetic middle. Liberal governance has been exposed by events on the ground, despite the shilling by the MSMers, as completely bankrupt. The more they shill in the run-up to the 2012 elections, the more credibility they will lose.

Thus the candidate that the media loves the least may be the candidate that voters will instictively favor, especially the young and apathetic fence-sitters.

We need to pick the most conservative candidate we can find, and put "electability" much, much lower on the priority list of attributes our candidate must possess. The fact that yes, the media will mobilize against our candidate, no matter who he or she happens to be or represent, is a given. We even defeated the media in New Jersey, for Christ sakes. The meme of "electability" is a completely media-created, now objectively refuted myth.

The media sold us Obama. Who has reason to listen to them now?

All this is meaningless if she isn’t running. And at the moment she isn’t, nor has she said anything to indicate otherwise.

If she, however, does decide to run... then this article has merit.

The truth is nobody really knows. We have hope and high expectations. One thing is certain, conservatism wouldn't be where it is today without Sarah Palin's leadership.

At the very minimum she will energize the base and pressure the 2012 GOP field further to the right. Whether she wins the nomination, or not, she will put her imprint on it. And, yes, she has as much of a chance to win it as any of leading candidates.

Two reasons why she won't....

1) She quit. spin it, massage it, tell people to go see the movie (as the Toddster did in Iowa), put all the lipstick on it you want...nothing will change the fact. It may have been a good decision from a personally financial perspective but it was fatal for any national political ambitions. America doesn't like quitters. All the magical thinking and idle wishing by her acolytes on Free republic will do nothing to stop the left and the media from hammering that home non-stop. The ads, posters, bumber-stickers, t-shirts and Tina Fey skits on SNL just write themselves.

2) Conservatives do not have the numbers to win alone. The next POTUS will need 68-72 million votes to win. Of these at least 10-15 million will have to be self-defined independents who voted for obama last time out. Palin(™) is the polar opposite of their last vote. They are not going to do a complete one-eighty in enough numbers for her to win.

1. Obama sucks
2. Obama’s policies suck
3. Economy sucks
4. Gas prices suck

My 4 reasons are short and to the point.

The MSM has destroyed Palin’s image, all without her help, despite some accusations against her one reads here (all MSM inventions, or MSM magnifications), and they are just getting warmed up on Perry. Don’t ever think he will escape what the propaganda machine has done to the Bushes, to Dan Quayle and to the stupidest of them all in the minds of many liberals to this day, Reagan.

“I firmly believe that Sarah Palin will run, win the nomination, and ultimately the Presidency.”

I firmly believe that I don’t know what is going to happen.

Now what I “want” to happen is that a real social/fiscal conservative (NOT a moderate) will get the GOP nomination and stop Romney. Then I also “want” that person to win the general election and carry in a big change in both the Senate and House so that trully conservative members of the GOP will dominate congress and the oval office. I also “want” that they don’t ever forget what they represent.

Now is the best person to do this Sarah Palin? I do not know. However, I lean towards saying yes. I think she would be better than Perry and I think she would be even better if Bachmann was her VP running mate.

Also, I cannot believe that the day has come that this man (me) would find two women to be the best choices for POTUS. However, we live in “interesting” times.
