Over the past few weeks, Republican candidates offering themselves as warriors in the crusade against Obama have sprung up as wildflowers in the field: each colorful, each beautiful in its own way. But these are not happy warriors. Each seems to send a sad message. It is the now-familiar tale of woe: our once-great republic reduced to a poverty-ridden husk of its former self, led to destruction by the Obama Administration. I suppose this recitation of the unworthiness of Obama is supposed to affirm a candidate’s “conservative” bona fides. IMHO, it is just a blinding glimpse of the obvious and frankly, a little bit unsulting to our intelligence.
Hear ye, Republican seekers of my vote in the Republican Primaries and the election of 2012, I already know that Barack Hussein Obama, Jr., if that is indeed is his rightful name, is one no-good, rotten Marxist-or-worse SOB figurehead, who perhaps by design seeks to bring down our nation and rebuild it as a socialist state. (Why not just say that on the campaign trail? Draw some fire. Give me a sign of life!)
Since I already know from painful economic experience how bad things are, what I really need to know now is what are The Program and The Plans that you offer to set our country back on the right course? I hope you do not intend to arrive in Washington like the Boehner Babies, who have neither a discernible plan, nor program, nor leaders, nor clue. They have badly short-changed those who elected them. Ladies and gentlemen , I need specifics from you. Since thus far none of you sees fit to address any issues, allow me to provide you with some food for thought:
The Budget: From to 2012 to 2016, the Federal budget must be cut 20% from the Federal Budget of 2004. This can be best approached by closing down unconstitutional federal departments whose activities are counterproductive: Education, The EPA, Homeland Security, Housing, etc. The number of Federal Employees must be down-sized and their pay and benefits reduced to match private sector wages and benefits. Unspent Stimulus Funds must be restored to the Treasury.
Taxes: Preparatory to the installation of a flat tax system, all rates must at least be held to the rates of the Reagan Era’s lowest taxes. The capital gains tax ought to be abolished entirely. Estate taxes which require liquidation of business enterprises must also be abolished.
Immigration: Our border with Mexico must be closed and regulated according to the laws already on the books. If stemming the illegal tide of immigrants from or through Mexico requires militarizing the border, so be it. A 5-year moratorium on all immigration might not be a bad idea, as would the repeal of the Kennedy Immigration Bill of 1965, which was a bad idea. Sorry, but if my immigrant ancestors had wanted to live in a country dominated by Hispanic culture and mores, they would have gone to one.
Try out of the box thinking. Register illegal alien males for the draft. Offer them the choice of military service for 5 years or deportation. Get tougher than I, should you feel the need. Stop being so goddam nice about the latinization of my country.
BTW, Muslims are a problem. Keep them the hell out! Speak the hell up! Stop worrying about how the MSM is going to pillory you. They will pillory you, end of story. Punch back. Stop trying to be Politically Correct.
You cannot be Politically Correct and do the job that has to be done. Attacking the MSM is just as good as attacking Obama. They are one and the same.

Do not, I beg you, fear to offend those whom we have somehow already offended years ago by freeing them from slavery, welcoming them to live in the United States, defending Israel, and even by turning a blind eye to monstrous perversions.
More than half the natural American Republican constituency is NOT VOTING. Turn out the vote you can get and take strong steps against vote fraud. FORGET PANDERING TO THE REST.
Defense: Declare war in Libya, or get out. Draw down troops in Europe, and South Korea. Delay F-35 procurement. Revise ROE to protect Americans. We need a bigger force to prevent the 4-5-6-time deployments that are gutting our professionals. Get more people in and trained.
Energy: Absolutely maximize the production of American crude oil. Immediately end the production of boutique fuels. Incentivize refinery construction. Incentivize the use of small, turbo-charged diesel engines in the American private automobile. It is being done all over the world with the result of 50mpg family cars. (Were American automobiles now so powered, there would be very little need for imported oil.) Use retired military bases as the locations for regional Nuclear Power plants. In the period from 2012 to 2016, Nuclear Power can be raised to produce 30% of the nation’s needs, with an eventual goal of 80%, as it is in France. In regard to OPEC, our defense of Saudi Arabia can be offset by their selling oil to us at one-half the OPEC rate of 1990. Iraqi oil should be ours until the funds invested in our operations there are offset.
INCONVENIENT ENVIRONMENT AND ENERGY FACTS:
There is no shortage of crude oil. There is a glut of crude oil. There are not enough refineries. EPA Regulations, combined with the oilcos who use them as an excuse, keep fuel supplies short by limiting production capacity. A tough President could cut the cost of gasoline in HALF in his first week in office. Oil will be the major energy source for the next century … deal with it… even while planning the next sources, which are not even near yet in economic feasibility.
There is no such thing as Anthropogenic Global Warming. (Have someone on your staff who did not major in English, Political Science, or Elementary Ed look up the Milankovitch Cycle.) Does Al Gore plan on suing Chile for Carbon Footprint violations, or Iceland or the State of Washington? Yes “pollution” is very bad. No, it has nothing to do with climate change. No, the EPA has no constitutional authority to regulate economic life.
States’ Rights: The 17th Amendment ought to be repealed to allow a return to the election of Senators by the legislatures of the individual states. All powers of the 10th Amendment need to be re-iterated and returned to the states. It is the states that must clean up their voter rolls and end vote fraud. It is the states that must monitor candidate eligibility for national office. Excessive Federalism is the major failing of our way of government. The pendulum must be swung back.
Health Care: Obama care must be categorically ended in all its forms. Private insurance premiums must remain untaxed.
Social Security: The system must be partially privatized to allow for greater return on investment. If the Republic of Chile can do this with great success, why can’t we?
Lady and Gentleman Candidates, pick, choose, add to, discuss some or all of the above points. If you disagree with my take on the issues, great. Just say so and tell us what YOU have in mind to do. But for God’s sake, let’s end the personality contests and get back to the issues. What do YOU think? Tell me what your Program and Plan is, and stop trying to be all things to all focus groups. Try using social media to tell the nation what YOU think must be done. The GOP left the last election on the couch. By avoiding the issues, you are, IMHO, setting the stage for an embarrassing 2008 repeat by not offering a clear choice.
We need the White House, the House, The Senate, and the States in much more conservative and constitutional hands in 2012. Republics and Democracies end. A GOP failure to win in 2012 and then to deliver quickly on that win will bring the death of this particular republic one hell of a lot closer. My friends, start swinging now. You’re not fighting an election. You are literally fighting for the future life of this country.
Attack Obama hard. But every time you do, tell me specifically what you are going to do differently. You are coming from a place of fear. Get it together and LEAD from the strength of honestly stated views. The namby-pamby platitudinous approaches I have seen so far, combined with the votes of the stupid and the un-votes of those whom you discourage and confuse will leave this country very vulnerable to the Return of the Mombasa MF.

The thing is, in a political system that hinges on the question "How can I buy your vote?" it will be difficult to get many professional politicians (or the citizens that put them into office) to go along with any of this.

Kenny, this is something I have been thinking about a lot lately. The left is only able to barely keep even by turning out every songle vote they can muster...felons, illegals, dead people, multiple voting. Every leftist is doing all they can. But there is a large untapped reserve of REAL AMERICANS ou there that are not voting. Tap them and you smother the left like a tsunami. We saw the first wave in 2010. Let’s build a bigger one...
That means all conservative effort should be solely dedicated to convincing your neighbors that their vote is needed.

For Energy policy, I like your closed Military base idea. For bases over 50 miles from a major population center, I could see turning those over to energy companies to build nuclear power plants.
But for closed Military bases near a major population center, I'd rather see "free enterprise zones" set up. Think of it like an "Indian reservation" for the rest of us. Sell of the properties in small lots/suites to companies for businesses. No state taxes (it is Federal property) and auction the leases off. lease it to businesses for 10-20 years, at the end of the lease terms, the jurisdiction over the territory returns to the state, the lease holders own their pieces, but are subject to state property and sales taxes after the state gets it back.
You'll never get the 17th repealed. Too esoteric for most people, and if you try to explain it, their eyes glaze over. Here's an alternative, also in the form of a constitutional amendment. I'm actually thinking seriously of setting up a website and petitions and starting to promote this one:
The “You Represent Us” amendment:
- Congress shall make no law establishing compensation or benefits for United States Represenatives or United States Senators.
- Any law of the United States which provides for compensation or benefits for United States Senators and/or United States Representatives, which is in effect at the time this amendment is ratified by the several states shall be null and void after December 31 of the year of ratification.
- Effective January 1 of the year following ratification of this amendment, United States Representatives and United States Senators shall be employees of the State they are elected to represent. They shall receive compensation and benefits as defined by the legislatures of their state. They shall be subject to all laws which apply to elected officials of their state.
Any thoughts on that?
Other than that, require every bill to open with a statement of which actual enumerated power within Article 1, Section 8 of the United States Constitution authorizes the Congress to propose and pass the bill. "General Welfare" isn't an enumerated power. Read Federalist #41 if you don't believe me.
Every law has a sunset after 10 years. If it's good, it can be passed again. All existing US Code and regulations will be set to sunset within 10 years as well. If we need that law, we'll pass it again.
Oh, and the Repeal Amendment or something very similar should also be a plank in the platform. Get it passed and ratified.
However, We the People have to be more vigilant. And at every level of government, from the city council up. Too many times, Councilman Jones calls up Congressman Sugar Daddy with the sob story, "Congressman, we really need a playground for our park, but we can't afford it. I can't ask my citizens to pay taxes for that. Can you get us a grant and tax the good people of Wisconsin and Idaho, pay some bureaucrats to review our application and set the rules, pay some 'federal inspectors' to make sure we follow all of your Washington rules, and give us the money as a 'grant' to pay for a new playground." And Congressman Sugar Daddy brings home the money, collected from everyone else. When that happens, you don't just need a new Congressman who understands the proper role of the federal government, you also need a new city councilman who also understands the limits of the federal government and why it's really bad to ask them for stuff you should be doing yourself. If the project isn't important enough that Councilman Jones can ask his golf buddies, the guys at the bowling alley and everyone at his church to pay for it, then it shouldn't be done.

It seems to me that the candidates so far are all interested in sound-biting Obama. That is an incomplete approach. We all know the question. What's the answer?
Certainly not the ineffectual leadership in the House, where a great victory has been frittered away. What we need to know from the Republicans is, "What is the program for reconstruction?"
You and I, for example, are discussing "Energy." Why are not the candidates discussing it? I am a lot more interested in Nuclear Powerplant Construction than I am in someone's "personality." You and I are offereing policy options, the candidates are not.
What I fear most is that the GOP will take the White House, but lose either the House or Senate. Without control of all three, and without a Program, a Plan, and Leadership, disaster, especially economic disaster, looms.
The GOP was born with the death of the Whig party. It was messy, and it took a while (and the Civil War) for the GOP to establish itself. Now the Republican Party is either on its deathbed, or needs to be completely restructured from within, which is certainly preferable to to the 1860 option!
I realize this is all a very tall order, but our team has to start right now. It took the Whigs a long time to die. We don't have a long time ... and we do have better communications.
Pathetic. And just the way the Democrats like it. Schoolboard elections and the like often have less than 10% turnout!
