Amid the chaos, there was Sarah Palin.
Only one advance staffer was on hand to wrangle the fans and reporters hoping to get close to the former vice presidential nominee, who arrived at Sunday’s Rolling Thunder rally on a motorcycle driven by her daughter Willow.
At the first stop on Palin’s bus tour — which, so far, has a vague itinerary and no other formally announced stops — security and press relations were left to a small group of disgruntled bikers.
When asked about the tour, Palin offered only, “This is our first stop; we’re very thankful to be here.”
A map of the tour’s stops on her PAC’s website remains blank.
Palin arrived with Willow on the front of the motorcycle she was driving and her husband, Todd, and oldest daughter, Bristol, on separate bikes. Still, their presence was very small in comparison to the rest of the rally, drawing about 200 people in a swarm around them at an event that drew thousands of veterans....

Jim, for the billionth time, I never said she WASN’T. The guy who invited her may not have had the authority to invite a celeb, but I personally don’t care about that. I’m trying to tell you something about what the lack of a good staff will mean in other, shall we say, less friendly venues. It is a very, very serious issue that Freepers keep blowing off, yet sooner or later it will be the cause of a major problem.
It’s hard to swallow constructive criticism that’s laced with the “Palinista” slur. You’d probably get more mileage otherwise.
I like your books, but I wonder if you actually have hard data on this or it's just a speculation that is influenced by your bias against 'Palinista'. The best security people are the ones that really blend. If the security people (or Palin organization) see the crowd as 'their own', they probably rely on Palin being with her supporters and do not have to be there visibly.
I understand your point on Lady Gaga crashing high school play, but they are different. This is practically a public event. Everyone who shares the vision can join the event, which Palin does. The same thing cannot be said about high school play.
Well, from everything I’ve read about the event she was well received by all. I don’t think you need to be so concerned about it.

Sarah is not doing things in the typical way. Her supporters understand why. Her behavior is leaving both the DNS and GOP spinning.
Maybe what Americans are looking for is someone not so scripted? It seems when we want our politicians to act like the “normal” politicians all we get are the normal politicians we do not like. Reagan was excellent at not acting like a robotic party hack and he did well.

The National Executive Director of Rolling Thunder doesn't seem concerned about Palin's presence. 
Oh yea what happens then? When she pulls the same crap? What the heck is the matter with her!
she’s had a year to get a handle on this and still hasn’t done so. And this comes from more than the “liberal media.” I hear it a lot from conservatives who work for, with, or around Palin in various capacities.
She has been working on it a lot longer than that, and has a handle on it.
The whole "Oh my, Palin at the Annual Rolling Thunder event, it's gonna ruin it, the security will not work, it will be all about her etc etc" pretty much evaporated and it all went quite smoothly.
I hope she fires those who have been badmouthing her to you.

I'm taking you at your word that you get info from conservatives that work for her, that work with her, and that work around her. That would be at least 6. That's quite a lot of disgruntled people to have working for you.
Too bad they blab stuff all over instead of talking to her to help her with her ventures.
You can bet the GOP is straining to get someone on the inside to do whatever they can to destroy her chances to turn this country around, and out of the pols hands.
