Rudy Giuliani has shaken up the field of potential presidential challengers by coming out on top in a poll of Republican frontrunners.
The former New York Mayors election bombshell came even though he hasnt even announced he is joining the 2012 race.
Mitt Romney and Sarah Palin came in second and third place in the CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey published today.
Many Republican voters admitted said they were not very satisfied with the current crop of declared candidates who will battle for the right to take on President Obama. Giuliani, with 16 percent support, was the shock frontrunner despite suggesting earlier this month that he may not even go ahead with a second White House bid after the debacle in 2008 when he bombed out after initially being seen as one of the favourites to win.
He narrowly edged former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, currently seen as the party's first choice because of name recognition and a large campaign war chest, with 15 percent.
Also polling high were former Alaska governor Sarah Palin with 13 percent, Texas Congressman Ron Paul, with 12 percent, and pizza magnate Herman Cain at 10 percent....

Go away Rudy...well, unless you can knock out Romney, then drop out yourself.
The very concept of the act is so anti-conservative it is mind boggling.
The number one issue for a candidate is, what is your plan to protect and restore our liberty.
I'd rather be poor and truly free than a "prosperous" slave.
LOL. Here’s a guy who had everything going for him heading into the 2008 primary season but couldn’t be bothered to actually try. With that clear a shot he had NO fire in his belly - the idea that he would run again or be taken seriously by any real Republican is a complete joke.
Rudy = RINO fag loving has been.
Seriously. The leftist propaganda has gotten so absurd. The other day, in an article about Palin, EVERY single “you might also want to read...” link was a hit piece... and they don’t even bother to disguise it anymore.
If he wants to do something useful, Romney should run against Chuck Schumer.
If he wants to do something useful, Rudy should run against Chuck Schumer.
Amen Brother:
I gritted my teeth and voted for McCain, but only because he picked Sarah as his running mate.
I will not vote for anyone again because of party affiliation.
Neither party is worth a pint of sour owl pee.
I am still beyond angry because New Hampshire has so much to say about who I get to vote for because of their first Primary. Liberal yankee turds who live in a liberal tiny state that doesn’t amount to squat, getting first pick.
More and more, the polls are becoming useless.
Yeah, let Rudy and Romney split the RINO and Idiot vote, then make way for the real conservative candidates.
I don’t know what anyone sees in Giuliani...”America’s Mayor”??? I wouldn’t vote for him for “America’s Dogcatcher”
Yawn- Just like when he was the “frontrunner” for 2008?
they = CNN/Opinion Research Corporation
I’m sure this was a scientific poll of utmost integrity. LOL
He’s showing he has potential to be VP. Frankly, you could do better, but if you just wanted someone to out-debate Joe Biden, then Rudy can do that easily.
Rooty was an epic fail in 2008. I guess that reason is good enough to do the same thing all over again. It is the modern thang you know. The worse you are, they more they like ya.
I am going to have to dig out my 2008 pics of the Rooty 2008 campaign central bus.
You have to know that there are a lot of backroom conversations going on about the present weak field, and what to do about it.
Should be a very interesting summer.
No, they polled Republicans...this poll is accurate and means one thing. One of the top preferences for Republican presidential candidate is a guy who isn’t running. The field is WIDE OPEN for a conservative to come in strong and grab stragglers.
My sentiments EXACTLY. Palin was the freaking ONLY redeeming quality of the mccain campaign, and the only reason I voted for that slob.
I’ve been a Giuliani supporter forever. I’d support him over Perry.
