New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg said he wont run for president in 2012 and declined to endorse the potential candidacy of Donald Trump, one of his constituents.
Speaking on Fox News Sunday, Mr. Bloomberg called Mr. Trump a friend and New York icon. But he criticized the idea of questioning whether President Barack Obama was born in the U.S., an issue that Mr. Trump has pressed.
The president was born here, Mr. Bloomberg said. I think the Republicans are making a terrible mistake in making this a big issue. Mr. Bloomberg said that if Republicans dont address larger issues such as the economy and immigration, they will lose and they deserve to lose.
Mr. Bloomberg noted that Mr. Trump isnt the only Republican challenging Mr. Obamas citizenship. This birther issue is more than one person, he said. There are a lot of roots that have glommed onto this.
Mr. Bloomberg also said, I am not running for president.
Sen. John McCain (R., Ariz.), the Republican standard-bearer in 2008, also declined to endorse Mr. Trump....

Perhaps Trump is really setting himself up to be NY’s next Governor, a Senator...or maybe even Mayor.

Is Bloomber a Democrat now, or is he still a Republican after bolting from the Democrats to run for mayor because the Republican slot was open?

Yeah, Congress had better hurry up and grab the economy baton from the democrat's after shellacking them in November.
Ryan better show a plan and soon! /s

How utterly predictable from a man who clearly does not give a damn about the constitutional rule of law.

one of his constituents.
Is that to imply Trump is a Bloomberg supporter too?

All he could say is nothing in the past matters, we must move forward.
Typical words from a monumental screw up.

Bloomberg is irrelevant. He can be proud that the only mayor in NY history has managed to piss off every other state.

McCain hasn’t and likely won’t endorse any candidate for the GOP nomination. Not sure who’d want his endorsement, but it’s also just wise for him to stay silent on the matter.

Re BO’s eligibility - for a laughable, irrelevant non-issue, it’s striking that so many people of all stripes are soiling themselves at the idea of someone bringing it up.

Another example of pro-amnesty anti-minutemen politicians against Trump. (Karl Rove, John McCain, Bloomberg...etc) There are two groups against Donald Trump within the Republican party. 1) The pro-amnesty crowd that has never met an undocumented worker or President they didn't like. 2) Hardcore social conservatives. It's understandable the concern of the hardcore social conservatives (which I consider myself under normal circumstances - even more so when the USA is not about to fall to 3rd status like we are now). What I do not understand is how a hardcore conservative can be standing on the very liberal pro-undocumented citizens / election results trump the Constitution platform of the RINOs while while they throw their stones at Trump for being a RINO. For me the Constitution trumps political ideology. Am I wrong in my way of thinking about conservatism? For the first time I'm wondering. I just do not feel that I am a real conservative if I throw the Constititution out with the bath water simply because my preferred candidate is not at the top of the polls.
And I know some will say "there is no proof that Obama is a foreigner"
But my answer is: It's the failure to provide proof that's nullifying the very Constitution we love so dearly.
I really wish it were Sarah Palin or some other real conservative who was standing on this issue instead of Donald Trump. It's a shame. But if it comes down to choosing between the US Constitution and my political ideology... I'm sticking to the US Constitution. To me, that's the real test of American Conservatism. And I feel comfortable with that decision.

0bama had this to say at a Hollywood fundraiser the other day:
A lot of you got involved at a time when the prospect of electing a Barack Hussein Obama to the Oval Office was slim. None of you asked for my birth certificate. It was a complete leap of faith.
Any doubts that I might have had about pursuing the BC issue went out the window with that statement. He's dirty.

“Pi is 3, Mr. Bloomberg said. I think the Republicans are making a terrible mistake in making this a big issue. They are irrational. Quibbling over utterly senseless series of digits after the decimal point. Ridiculous.
