The Republican Party: A house divided
The Examiner ^ | April 19, 2011 | Lucius Wilson

Posted on 04/19/2011 2:41:22 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

I'm sure at this point with a very serious Presidential election season beginning the serious GOP presidential hopefuls had expected the Donald Trump's and Sarah Palin's in the world to have already faded to black.

They have not; in fact, they are demanding center stage in the Republican Party. Instead of slipping numbers Donald Trumps numbers seem to be getting progressively better, he is gaining traction among the very Republican voters who will decide a primary, and this is a serious problem for the GOP.

Sarah Palin who had begun to fade has emerged and hitched her political wagon to Trump and the birther movement. The establishment Republicans know that Palin and Trump could win in a Republican primary but they could never win in and general election.

Serious contenders like Mitt Romney and Tim Pawlenty have been forced to scramble for any press coverage they can get and when they do get it they have to either go the loony far right way and attack Obama for just about everything...

I love articles like this. No proof of anything he asserts is given, it's all just presented as conventional wisdom.

You don’t have to be competent to get your name on an article’s masthead.

This seems to be the new propaganda meme, spreading everywhere. Second article in the past hour or two claiming that Donald Trump and Sarah Palin are alike.

No, they are not alike. Trump is working for Hillary and Soros, and Sarah is working for God and country.

The article actually BLAMES Gov. Palin and Mr. Trump
for Mitt Romney's "defense" of the undocumented Obama.
UN-BELIEVEABLE

The Magic, amazing, backstabbing RINO, Milt Romney:
My nest of lawyers say Obama was born in the United States,
and Obama doesn’t need a Birth Certificate (like me!!!!!), and
all citizenship tests have been passed by Obama".

For a man who has no real intent on running for President Donald Trump has divided the Republican Party and like President Abraham Lincoln once said a house divided cannot stand.

IF this is true, then good. But I’ll tell you this... Trump has UNIFIED the conservative base. Trump is saying things and doing things that Sarah, Mitt and the rest of the Repubs are too chicken to do.

Can you imagine Huck going face to face with Stephie? Shoot. Huck is a scmuck who is too cowardly to speak on the fundamental issue of Certifigate.

You might want to do a little research: Governor Sarah Palin has been facing off against Mr. Obama since September 2008. She was muzzled and contradicted by Senator McCain and his Romneybot & Bushbot staffers, but after the 2008 election she has been on him like white on rice.

Palin hasn’t hitched herself to Trump in any way shape or form.

I expect today's journalists to be ignorant, but this guy is astonishingly illiterate too:

1. "the Donald Trump's and Sarah Palin's" should not be possessive. The plurals should have been made without the apostrophes. I wish America had more than one politician of Sarah Palin's (that usage is possessive) caliber.

2. "they could never win in and general election" seems like a typo for "a general election" or "any general election". Is there an editor in the house - one who listened to the grammar lesson in third grade and not just one who counts the attacks on Sarah Palin to make sure the writer made quota?

3. "Serious contenders like Mitt Romney and Tim Pawlenty have been forced to scramble for any press coverage they can get and when they do get it they have to either go the loony far right way and attack Obama for just about everything. If you're Mitt Romney and you refuse get down in the sewer with the Trumps and Palins in the world you find yourself being asked about the President's birth and end up defending the very man you hope to replace. For a man who has no real intent on running for President Donald Trump has divided the Republican Party and like President Abraham Lincoln once said a house divided cannot stand."

Three consecutive run on sentences and there is not even one punctuation mark in any of them. At least the author punctuated his earlier run ons. On the good side, the author switched over to the correct form for his plural of "the Trumps and Palins in the world".

4. "Trump, Palin, and the extreme right have managed to drive a huge chasm right through the center of the Republican Party." What better way to end this pathetic hack's work than a mixed metaphor. Shakespeare can get away with it (Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, or to take arms against a sea of troubles), but this guy is no Shakespeare. I think he meant, "drive a wedge", "drive a huge wedge", or even "drive a double plus ungood wedge".

This is a hit piece on Palin, not Trump.

Trump is PERCEIVED as unserious and nearly crazy by just about everyone.

To put Palin in the camp borders on criminality.

Really?

Perhaps you can help me do that research. Show me where she claims Obama is lying regarding his birth certificate. I’ll show you where she wants to bury her pretty little head in the sand over this issue - calling it a distraction.

Show me where she is calling Obama out over his ties to Tony Rezko. And where she says Bill Ayers wrote Dreams.

Look. Trump is no conservative. But at least he’s doing the job conservatives are afraid to do.

Lucious,

Do not ever mix up or confuse Donald Trump with Sarah Palin. Donald Trump is not fit to shine Sarah’s pumps! Other than that, he can go on attacking Obama on his birth certificate.
