Birthers love Sarah Palin far more than any other 2012 GOP hopeful (Greg wetting himself)
The Washington Post's Plum Line ^ | February 15, 2011 | Greg Sargent

Posted on 02/15/2011 11:24:39 AM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

The new poll from the Dem firm Public Policy Polling finds that a majority of likely GOP primary voters falsely believe Obama wasn't born in the United States. But this breakdown of their attitudes towards Sarah Palin is of particular interest:

A 51% majority of national GOP primary voters erroneously think President Obama was not born in the U.S. 28% know that he was. With the latter, Palin's favorability rating is 41-52 -- other than Ron Paul, the only candidate these voters view negatively. But with birthers, she has a soaring 83-12, far higher than for any of the others.

Birthers like Palin more than all the other 2012 GOP hopefuls to an overwhelming degree. And she is the only 2012 hopeful aside from Ron Paul who is viewed negatively by Republicans who know the President was born in America. I'd say this tells us a lot about the secret to Palin's appeal and about who she appeals to.

Ben Smith and Jonathan Martin report today that polls show Palin trailing significantly among GOP primary voters in early-voting states, folks who tend to take their role in picking a presidential nominee rather seriously. As Smith and Martin speculate, this suggests that Palin's general popularity among GOP primary voters -- which remains very high -- is rooted less in a desire to see her elected to a position of awesome responsibility and more in her ability to give voice to their contempt for Democrats.....

You’re such a wimp! You can’t even stand up for yourself and you try to deflect your inadequacies on me.

I already did. See post #14 before getting your feathers ruffled.

Obama has claimed two different hospitals. Neither hospital is claiming Obama.

The change in narrative is correct - the story has always been “In Hawaii”, and now is described as “in the United States”. The difference may be moot, but it is a difference.

Starting off with a false premise are we? Has Greg Sargent actually seen the birth certificate?

Kapi’olani Medical Center for Women and Children in Honolulu read aloud the letter 0bama wrote about being born there and posted a video of them doing so. Seems to me that such is “claiming” him.

There have also been reports (from where?) that he was born at Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu.

But it isn't as if NO hospital is claiming him, it seems that (as is not unusual with lies) the story itself is not consistent.

The reading of a letter from Obama by Kapi’olani Medical Center is ambiguous, I think. They proclaimed Obama’s proclamation.

However, I was not aware that they had produced such a video, so I have gained knowledge - thank you.

I believe it was Obama himself, or his sister, who claimed at one time he was born in Queen’s Medical Center. My memory is a bit fuzzy on the subject.

In the end, though, I think we agree that there is no clear record of his being born in either hospital. There is only his proclamation, which may have been echoed, but has not been independently affirmed. The story is indeed inconsistent.

Ralph Waldo Emerson opined that “A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds”. Personally, I prefer Mason Cooley’s response: “Inconsistency has been overpraised by those that do not expect to suffer from it.”

Cry some more about not being pinged to a post that REPEATED what I said to you in post #14 that you had not yet responded to?

Rather touchy for someone who supposedly doesn't have thin skin I would say.

Better call the WAHmbulance.

allmendream also added the fact that Kapi’olani has read on video Omaba’s claim of being born there, which really muddies the water.

You expected a response to an idiotic, rhetorical question?~!

Your attempt to paint me as stupid failed!
You're not so smart after all, are you.

Not really muddies, facts should clarify things, not muddy them.

It is clear (to me) that both 0bama and Kapi’olani claim Kapi’olani. Where the claim of Queen's came from I have no idea (anyone got a source for that one?).

But it isn't as if there is no hospital in Hawaii that is associated with his birth, apparently there are two hospitals via CONFLICTING stories!

And I still think getting fixated upon “in the United States” vs “in Hawaii” is a distinction without a difference. The “narrative” is STILL “born in Hawaii” - and Hawaii IS “in the United States”.

Now the distinction between “citizen” and “natural born citizen” is one that I agree should be kept clear and distinct at all times - but “born in the United States” vs “born in Hawaii”????

There may well be an effort to not associate the issue with the freak show Hawaii governor - but really - is anyone claiming any OTHER State than Hawaii? No. The narrative hasn't changed, and one example of “born in the United States” is hardly the establishment of a trend away from “born in Hawaii”.

Here is a video of reality. Abercrombie read the letter, not anyone from Kapi’olani!
So much for that.

(note the shirts...it must be a reflex action)

Let's look at what you said again...
Kapi’olani Medical Center for Women and Children in Honolulu read aloud the letter...

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Abercrombie did it and you're doing it.

Are you sure there is only one example?
You aren't sure about Queen's Medical Center so...
Don't get ahead of your guessing.

“The facility (Kapi’olani) has posted that letter on its website, along with video of the letter being read in public.”

http://www.wnd.com/?pageId=103306#ixzz1E8m7JA25

Sorry, I assumed the video they posted on their website was of THEM reading the letter. But either way, it is hard to claim that Kapi’olani isn't claiming 0bama when they post his letter (wherein he claims to be born there) and a video of the letter being read on their website.

Again sorry for the misidentification of WHO was reading the letter (it wasn't made clear) - again a distinction that makes little difference toward dismissing the claim that Kapi’olani wasn't claiming 0bama.

CNN Poll: Quarter doubt Obama was born in U.S. August 4th, 2010
Forty-two percent of those questioned say they have absolutely no doubts that the president was born in the U.S., while 29-percent say he "probably" was.

Yeah, Hawaii IS “in the United States”, but atypical of the present day press...anything to confuse, divert or distract.
