Birthers love Sarah Palin far more than any other 2012 GOP hopeful (Greg wetting himself)
The Washington Post's Plum Line ^ | February 15, 2011 | Greg Sargent

Posted on 02/15/2011 11:24:39 AM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

The new poll from the Dem firm Public Policy Polling finds that a majority of likely GOP primary voters falsely believe Obama wasn't born in the United States. But this breakdown of their attitudes towards Sarah Palin is of particular interest:

A 51% majority of national GOP primary voters erroneously think President Obama was not born in the U.S. 28% know that he was. With the latter, Palin's favorability rating is 41-52 -- other than Ron Paul, the only candidate these voters view negatively. But with birthers, she has a soaring 83-12, far higher than for any of the others.

Birthers like Palin more than all the other 2012 GOP hopefuls to an overwhelming degree. And she is the only 2012 hopeful aside from Ron Paul who is viewed negatively by Republicans who know the President was born in America. I'd say this tells us a lot about the secret to Palin's appeal and about who she appeals to.

Ben Smith and Jonathan Martin report today that polls show Palin trailing significantly among GOP primary voters in early-voting states, folks who tend to take their role in picking a presidential nominee rather seriously. As Smith and Martin speculate, this suggests that Palin's general popularity among GOP primary voters -- which remains very high -- is rooted less in a desire to see her elected to a position of awesome responsibility and more in her ability to give voice to their contempt for Democrats.....

One other thing and I'm done. This is a dampener...
“That view is still widely held in Republican circles.”
Instead of stating that it's a growing view, which reflects reality, he tries to dampen the issue by saying that it's just a "widely held" view.

Besides the fact that we’ve never seen Obama’s birth certificate, how messed up is it that we’ve seen virtually NONE of the usual paper trail. No school records, no passport records, no transcripts, test scores, medical records, bar application, etc. Obama is a complete work of fiction. Who IS this guy???

Well yes, it rarely does any good.

“HOW DARE you say there wasn't a travel ban on Pakistan you Obot Constitution destroying liberal!” is the pat response.

Then some Congressman makes himself look like a fool and allows derision to be heaped upon the entire undertaking by talking about a travel ban on Pakistan.

...and let’s not forget the “fake but accurate” draft card fiasco, nor the multiple SSNs.

But, at least the crackhead never (so he claims) ‘did smack’ among all his other admitted drug usage.

I know every conservative candidate will be asked if Obozo is a citizen. My vote will go to the one who has the metal to say: whether he is a citizen or not, I do not know; but I know he is not a natural born citizen and therefore is a fraud and usurper; who is not eligible to be president; and so he should be impeached; prosecuted and imprisoned.

I don’t care because: while he is a usurper, he’s there, de facto, as you say - I don’t want to argue with anti-birthers and I refuse to admit that he is a legitimate President. I meant don’t care as in “ending the conversation” and the birthers win. The best thing we can do, IMHO, is continued “homework” on proving his ineligibility, quietly in the background, not distracting from all the other things we need to clamor about. Of course, keeping stoking the fire a little is beneficial, of course. I notice the talking heads are really strongly distracting from actually reducing Fed. employee headcount right now, for example.

Politically, his impeachment or removal in any way other than simply not getting re-elected, will create a huge resentment that the “terrible conservatives” “unfairly” booted him - we all know how that would go, never hear the end of it. It is most advantageous to conservativism that he stay in there and wreak havoc economically on the idiots who elected him and his conservative successor brings prosperity back, so he will go down in history as the idiot that he is and was given every opportunity to succeed. And it would be icing on the cake to include, after he’s not re-elected, IRREFUTABLE hard evidence that, oh, by the way you idiots that voted for him, he wasn’t even eligble; yet another stupidity of history that we can learn from.

I do care that the Dems have no character vetting and will put up illegitimate candidates, and this makes no sense; I wonder how many Obamas and Jim McGreevey’s they will put on the ballot going forward.

It bothers me that about 80% of the population considers themselves proud Americans, the rest are either VERY misguided or completely anti-American to the point of wanting the nation destroyed.

Zero’s painfully obvious hatred of non-black, non-muslim, non-communist Americans and the military is so disrespectful, hateful and revolting that I just have to forget about it and move on. He only “likes” those he can use to further the goals of the “movement” that he fancies himself a part of. When one sees his disrepectful words and deeds, it is obvious that in his mind he would spit on the honorable men who fought and died in the founding of our nation. What kind of an idiot would not take the time to learn the Presidential protocol for returning salutes from those who protect him ? What filth.

Despite the seriousness of the crimes committed which resulted in his assuming the office, the war between the “forces of evil” and true Americans goes on; I just hope we can avoid getting distracted by one admittedly monumental loss and keep our heads clear and keep pressing on.

If B.O.Punk was born in Hawaii, why is no hospital claiming it? And why did Abercommie tell a friend that *THERE IS NO LONG FORM BC*? I refuse to cower away from asking qustions. Bob

That wasn't the point I was making. The post highlighted “in the United States” and then said something about ‘i thought the story was born in Hawaii?’.

As such I wondered if the poser was aware that Hawaii is “in the United States”.

And aren't there TWO DIFFERENT hospitals claiming it? I thought THAT was the issue, not that none claimed it.

It may well be that there is no long form, it isn't an uncommon occurrence that there is no paper record, especially if your birth is within the last 20 years or so, as most States go by electronic records these days; under the Full Faith and Credit clause of the Constitution - what are we going to do?

Paper original documents are apparently, “SO 20th century!”

One hospital, Kapiolani, once claimed it, but has backed off. At present, all hospitals in Hawaii are mum. Curious, eh? LOL Bob

I was amazed that even Speaker “Bohner” recently framed his statements on this subject so as to ignore the “natural born” requirement as being more demanding than just "place of birth". This is often done in discussing Dear Leader's eligibility and results in a diminishing of the urgent need to investigate this matter to its factual conclusion!

Jay Bookman at the “Atlanta Urinal and Constipation” also makes fun of us who think Obama was not born in this Country:

If you've got something to say to me then say it to me. Don't say it to someone else. Or at least have the common courtesy to ping me.
I'm a grown man with a thick skin and can take anything you dish.
Hell, I've even been known to publicly admit on FR that I'm wrong when I am!

Are you unaware that Hawaii is “in the United States”, that it is, in fact, ONE of those United States?
Yeah, I'm such a complete idiot that I can't recognize when there is a deliberate attempt to distance the long standing MSM meme of pointing out that he was "born in Hawaii". You're so smart for correcting me.
I'm such a complete idiot that I don't want people to focus too much on "born in Hawaii" after Abercrombie blew it. People might actually start to wonder what was going on. You're so smart I'm surprised you didn't catch that yourself!
I'm such a complete idiot that I want people to believe that anybody born anywhere "in the United States" can be POTUS. You're smart...figure it out.

Do I need an /sarcasm?
