Birthers love Sarah Palin far more than any other 2012 GOP hopeful (Greg wetting himself)
The Washington Post's Plum Line ^ | February 15, 2011 | Greg Sargent

The new poll from the Dem firm Public Policy Polling finds that a majority of likely GOP primary voters falsely believe Obama wasn't born in the United States. But this breakdown of their attitudes towards Sarah Palin is of particular interest:

A 51% majority of national GOP primary voters erroneously think President Obama was not born in the U.S. 28% know that he was. With the latter, Palin's favorability rating is 41-52 -- other than Ron Paul, the only candidate these voters view negatively. But with birthers, she has a soaring 83-12, far higher than for any of the others.

Birthers like Palin more than all the other 2012 GOP hopefuls to an overwhelming degree. And she is the only 2012 hopeful aside from Ron Paul who is viewed negatively by Republicans who know the President was born in America. I'd say this tells us a lot about the secret to Palin's appeal and about who she appeals to.

Ben Smith and Jonathan Martin report today that polls show Palin trailing significantly among GOP primary voters in early-voting states, folks who tend to take their role in picking a presidential nominee rather seriously. As Smith and Martin speculate, this suggests that Palin's general popularity among GOP primary voters -- which remains very high -- is rooted less in a desire to see her elected to a position of awesome responsibility and more in her ability to give voice to their contempt for Democrats.....

"Falsely believe" Greg? What proof do you have? And why do Democratic polling companies keep bringing this up? Do they really think it helps Mr. Obama? BTW, I thought this fishwrap was in the middle of a "No Sarah, no way!" month...

Is there a category for “birthers who don’t care” ?

This is a new twist. Palin supporters are ‘birthers’.

Anything to diminish, derail, and deflate the Palin train to the White House.

This won’t work either.

Man, it’s getting fun to watch.

Internet Explorer is encountering a problem and needs to close when I try to comment at that site.

Maybe IE knew I was gonna ask the author to take note that Obama’s good friend, HI Governor Neil Abercrombie, is a “birther”, since he told Mike Evans there is no proof that Obama was born in Hawaii. lol.

At this point, after all the stuff with Abercrombie, I’d say folks like Bill O’Reilly and the guy who authored this piece are akin to “flat-earthers”. lol

You don't care if the de facto president is eligible for the office he occupies?

Yeah - “falsely believe”. It’s like the Big Lie - keep repeating that often enough so people think BHO has actually produced some sort of definitive evidence. I’m agnostic on the “birther” issue, but it is ridiculous to assert as fact that something is “false” when Obama has spent millions making sure that the records in Hawaii (to the extent they exist) never see the light of day. How about that, Greg??

Let's look at the poll question...
Q11 Do you think Barack Obama was born in the United States?
Yes.................................................................. 28%
No.................................................................. 51%
Not sure......................................................... 21%

WHAT!? Not "in Hawaii" as has been the meme all this time?

The poll question does not ask the truly relevant and pertinent question of...
"Do you think Barack Obama is a natural born citizen and eligible to be POTUS in accordance with the Constitution?"
Got to stay away form that third rail at all costs.

“Any thought that the birther theory has been put to rest can be thrown out the window with this poll,” said Dean Debnam, President of Public Policy Polling. “That view is still widely held in Republican circles.”

I’m sure an overwhelming number of ‘Truthers’ support Barry Obama and Fidel Castro.

“a majority of likely GOP primary voters falsely believe Obama wasn't born in the United States.”

A majority of GOP primary voters are too intelligent to fall for the fraudulent Obama biography presented by the MSM and the Democrats.

Are you unaware that Hawaii is “in the United States”, that it is, in fact, ONE of those United States?

A 51% majority of national GOP primary voters erroneously think President Obama was not born in the U.S. 28% know that he was.

It is impossible to either erroneously think or to know when the evidence which could prove either supposition is deliberately withheld.

Just because I declare myself to be Napoleon Bonaparte does not make it so. Neither does it necessarily make it false if I withhold evidence as to who I really am.

"Falsely believe" Greg?
He's reporting from the source.

Second paragraph, first sentence.
A 51% majority of national GOP primary voters erroneously think President Obama was not born in the U.S.
The "erroneously think" part is purely TOM JENSEN or whomever it was who wrote the intro.

Greg just did a poor job of indicating what they said.
More " "!

I was sitting a few months ago with a non-political person watching the Constitution being read. (They really weren’t that interested, but I had it on when they came over).

She’s not stupid, she’s just more concerned everyday with putting food on the table for her large family. She is a product of the NYC education system.

When the part came on about a president must be born in the US, she said, “Wow, I never knew that.”.

This surprised me. It got me to thinking, how many people think he isn’t born here, and don’t realize it’s illegal?

A) I would lie to any of these “pollsters” just to screw up their “results”

B) I do NOT “believe” Obama was ‘born in the U.S.A.’, as “belief” is a statement of faith, and I have NO faith in anything Obama. Instead, I’m pretty certain he was, though their is room for doubt, so I doubt until I see PROOF.

C) No matter where he was born, he almost certainly does NOT meet the NATURAL BORN citizen definition.

D) Even IF he is a (slim chance) NATURAL BORN citizen, I still want to see his documents... a few of the same ones I MUST produce next month to renew my drivers license, which includ a certified, embossed BIRTH CERTIFICATE; a SOCIAL SECURITY CARD, a TAX DOCUMENT with my SSN on it, among others.
