CPAC presidential straw poll results aside, Karl Rove, former Senior Adviser to President George W. Bush says the GOP side of the 2012 presidential field is "a wide open contest." Speaking to Fox News on Sunday, Rove classified the race as "the first Republican contest in modern history in which there is no presumptive frontrunner." While Rove doesn't currently see a clear cut choice for the GOP, he did admit the nominee is likely to be a better known name, naming several examples including "Governor Romney, Sarah Palin and Governors Barbour, Daniels and Pawlenty."

When asked how high profile political departures in Congress could impact both parties during the next election, Rove said he was "surprised" by Senator John Kyl's (R-Ariz.) announcement that he would not seek another term in office....

I like having a wide open field, and a good shot at dumping 0bama. I want to see each candidate put on their best game. We have to beat 0bummer. So, let’s see who can convince us they are 1) Conservative, and 2) Can beat 0bammmy!

Let the Games Begin!

predict if Palin is the nominee, Tokyo (and the Bushies) will work hard to sabotage the campaign, hoping for a Jeb run in 2016.

you are correct. The Bushies will work overtime smearing and demeaning Sarah. The left and RINOs will be in full attack and destroy mode all the way, until Nov 5th 2012 at 12:59:59pm.

The elites are beyond contempt. They are the reason our Republic is at the precipice of financial and moral collapse. Sarah has my vote the votes of 12 other family members. We all have studie Sarah and can see she is a true fiscal conservative that reveres the Constitution and has a servant's heart. Sarah has a grass roots following that will rise up and drown out the girly-man wimps on the right and the traitors on the left.

Greta does that too although she does say “former Gov” but I don’t think she says the same about Romney or Huckabee—but I may be wrong about that.

You are correct. Greta respects Sarah. I always catch Greta when Sarah is on. Greta correctly introduces Sarah and says something like, "former Governor Sarah Palin." This is only said in the introduction. In the rest of her interviews of Sarah, I always remember Greta addressing Sarah as "Governor." I have always found Greta to be fair with Sarah. Now for Huck-a-phony or Mitt, I don't know -- I can't stand to watch them, so if they are on Greta, I don't tune in -lol.

From that other post....

Today Karl Rove was on the Fox News Channel, talking about the CPAC Straw Poll, and if it really means anything. He Said ,”3742 people voted in the straw poll; 11,000 people attended the CPAC. So two-thirds of the people who attended didn’t even bother to vote.” He then was asked his thoughts on the GOP Frontrunners, when he exclaimed, “The front runners are going to be those that are better known, like Governor Romney and Governor Palin, or those that are serving governors or recently serving governors, Governor Barbour, Governor Daniels, Governor Pawlenty. But it’s going to be an open contest and we are likely to see lots of surprises along the way.”

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Here Rove says Governor Palin

The Rove bashing is stupid and infantile

Look at NC (where I'm based often) Palin has terrible ratings (mid 30s). Tell me how does she win?

Where do you get this BS?

Just before the 2010 midterm elections, the MSM was also telling everyone in NC that the Democrats were going to hold on to their majorities in both houses of the State Assembly, and all their Dem US congressmen were going back to DC.

What happened there? Republicans took over both houses in the State Assembly for the first time since 1898, 112 years. Bob "who are you?" Etheridge got put out with the garbage by Renee Elmers, and several other TEA Party candidates took over Dem seats in major upsets.

Yet now, these same Mainstream Media liars are telling you the truth about Sarah Palin's favorability in NC? They are lying to you again. Get out and talk to the people there.

With respect to CA, who cares at CA (in terms of the EC votes and becoming POTUS). NV does matter. In that for the GOP to win the WH, NV goes a long way toward making that easier / possible.

My point is, in State wide races, can Palin win? Not in states like KY or the deep South (they are already a MUST and a given for the GOP). But 2012 will be about the following States, we already know it.

FL,OH, VA, NC, WV, NV, CO, NM, AZ, WI. (NJ, MN, those are not going Red in a POTUS election in all seriousness). So what are we looking at. Mostly States that no one would consider solid Red (outside of FL and to a much lesser extent OH...and hell OBama took both those in 08). Now I'll grant you Obama takes OH and FL mainly because McCain was awful.

But even if Palin were to so how carry OH (I'm certain she could win FL). She still has to be able to carry CO, NV, NC, VA and AZ if my math is correct. Can she do that?

My reference to Angle is, with the non-politcal / terribly ill-informed middle that makes up more and more of AZ, CO, NM, NV and NC.....can she win, if the premise has already been set on her / about her with this segment of voters (within these States). That is a reality that has to be dealt with and at the very least acknowledged, seriously.

And any notion that she is somehow, in some way, shape or form the same as Ronald Reagan forfeits any notion of being intellectually honest. Palin of 2012 is not in any honest comparison to Reagan of 80.
