CPAC presidential straw poll results aside, Karl Rove, former Senior Adviser to President George W. Bush says the GOP side of the 2012 presidential field is "a wide open contest." Speaking to Fox News on Sunday, Rove classified the race as "the first Republican contest in modern history in which there is no presumptive frontrunner." While Rove doesn't currently see a clear cut choice for the GOP, he did admit the nominee is likely to be a better known name, naming several examples including "Governor Romney, Sarah Palin and Governors Barbour, Daniels and Pawlenty."

When asked how high profile political departures in Congress could impact both parties during the next election, Rove said he was "surprised" by Senator John Kyl's (R-Ariz.) announcement that he would not seek another term in office....

Which is exactly why she will be the next President.

And why she will carry many more Tea-Party candidates in with her to join the 87 already there. Rove’s worst nightmare hasn’t even begun yet.

Sarah Palin is not only the frontrunner now but she is actually blowing all the contenders out of the water.

Since they’re already hard at work doing just that, it doesn’t take much to predict them doing so. If Willard is not the nominee, the gloves will really come off, in conjunction with journ-o-list, the enemedia, DNC, RNC, academia, Hollywood, the big bloggers, the nutroots, ACORN, SEIU, AFL-CIO, Soros, the NGOs, the Obots, the executive branch, the anarchists, the Jared Loughner types, the Lavender Mafia, the Muslims and many more. But that’s a two-way street, which they ignore at their peril.

Isn’t Mr. Pawlenty a former governor now?

Just another of the growing list of out of touch Republican pissants whose opinions, as well as themselves, are insignificant.

As if his little problem with eminent domain weren't enough, according to posts here Boss Hogg shot himself in the foot several times in this weekend. He just needs to go back to Mississippi and work on more ways to steal private property from the citizens so it can be given to his corporate buds.

Yes, you’re right. So that makes it just a little bit worse.

I am originally from Mississippi and I like Boss Hogg.
But he reminds me of that glue horse, Fred Thompson, who was McCain’s stalking horse.

My first thought too.

Greta does that too although she does say “former Gov” but I don’t think she says the same about Romney or Huckabee—but I may be wrong about that.

I’m glad you noticed that. Rove isn’t the only one who does that. If you notice, she is almost always referred to as “Sarah Palin”. Not Governor, or Former Governor. It’s very insulting. Either use the title or refer to everyone else without theirs.

Would be like saying, "President Clinton, George Bush, Presidents Carter, Nixon, and Kennedy." Low class.

That is and has been the case for years. Rarely was GWB referred to as President Bush or former president today. I have seen him referred to as EX president...much like the difference between former Marine and ex Marine. Low class is correct!

As far as I can tell he has been an effective governor, however he is not necessarily the fiscal conservative some on this board seem to believe he is.

I agree that he has been a good governor. With his lobbying background, I don’t it will be his time though.

Answer me this - As a Palin POTUS/CinC supporter, in your honest opinion could / would she have been able to beat Harry Reid in NV this past election? Angle (Tea-Partier) certainly didn't (with support of Palin). Maybe she would have?? All I know is anyone but Angle / Tea Party type beats Reid this past year. The State has the highest unemployment in the Country and his negatives were as high as they get for an incumbent.

Yet he wins.

Look at NC (where I'm based often) Palin has terrible ratings (mid 30s). Tell me how does she win? I contend she would not have even beaten Reid and if you can't beat that POS in the current atmosphere of that State there is no way you carry enough to get to 270.

I like her for the most part, I just don't see her being anymore ready to be POTUS/CinC than the current fool we have in there right now (only her politics are better). Though, I question her judgment (reality shows, attention seeking children and family, leaving office early, jumping to answers to quickly in interviews without taking time to pause and reflect).

I don't know. What I do know is 2012 is important. Not to make a statement, but to remove the current man who sits in the oval office from power. He is the most anti-American man ever elected (regardless of politics). We need him out.

If you really believe that Mr. Obama would beat Governor Palin in North Carolina, now that the “Hope and Change” bloom is off the rose, President Bush is a distant memory and the economy is in shambles, I need you to FReepmail me some of that stuff you've got rolled up into those weird looking cigarettes. As for Nevada, he's the SENATE MAJORITY LEADER, with all that that implies. Gov. Palin didn't run against Senator Reid, Sharron Angle did. And California (especially the Inland Empire) had the highest unemployment then, I believe. Yet the democrats control that state, lock, stock & barrel.

Karl Rowe fears losing power more than he fears losing elections.

I am not a Daniels man, but I just watched the speech. The GOP establishment has a new rock star. He seems well-suited for New Hampshire.
