Not a fan: Krauthammer calls Palin 'rather weak' and gives her 'no chance of winning' in 2012
The Daily Caller ^ | December 31, 2010 | Jeff Poor

Is the idea that former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin could be America’s next president laughable? Not only to many on the left, but also to conservative columnist Charles Krauthammer.

On Friday’s broadcast of “Inside Washington,” Krauthammer offered several reasons why Palin shouldn’t be considered the presumptive Republican nominee for the 2012 presidential election.

“What do you mean if not Sarah Palin in 2012?” Krauthammer said. “Who’s saying she’s going to be the presidential candidate? I don’t even hear her saying it. Her chances of being are smaller than half a dozen other people. If you talk to Republicans, I don’t think there are what, more than one in three who would tell you she has a chance of winning the presidency or even the nomination.”

Because of that, he said, she wasn’t the favorite.

“And she is not the favorite,” he continued. “She has a very strong core constituency but outside of that I think she is rather weak.”

Krauthammer has previously downplayed Palin’s chances and indicated he favors Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels. He said Palin would not be the ideal candidate to unseat a “vulnerable” President Barack Obama.

“Her negatives are over 50 percent,” Krauthammer said. “She has no chance of winning a general election. Why would you want a candidate who is going to lose against a Democrat who is going to be vulnerable and who is also extremely ideologically ambitious?”

He even employed a Keith Olbermann catch phrase to describe Palin and said even fellow Republicans didn’t see Palin as qualified.

“A half-term governor? I’m not sure Republicans think of her as qualified.” Krauthammer said.

Nice response.
Did you know that the number one cause of the reply “blah, blah, blah” is an utter lack of open minded thought and reason?
Happy New Year!

Sarah Plain did not make an endorsement in the Nevada Senate Primary although her father endorsed Tarkanian. She endorsed Angle AFTER she won the primary (Mitt Romney style).

Did you follow Castle's votes in the lame duck session? He wouldn't have voted any differently than Coons in the senate.

All the accusations hurt Haley worse than anything. You are really reaching.

Krauthammer can eat poopoo and die for all I care. He and Rove are turncoat liberal/progressive, one-world government trolls and should be booted by Fox. I won’t even listen to this worthless a-hole again. He’s gone rogue himself, a close friend of the commies. Any friend of the commies is an enemy if mine.

Gov. Palin had been totally immobilized by a national democrat party focusing its energy on one state governor to the detriment of the people of that state.

And, lest it's lost on those from Rio Linda, this was AFTER she'd lost the election!

The lib/Dems could have left her to quietly serve out her term in Alaska, but no - they hated her with such unbridled passion that they couldn't restrain their desire to destroy her.

Now, you tell me what other losing Vice Presidential candidate has EVER gotten that sort of treatment from the Democrat machine in our history?

People who claim that the Democrats aren't scared out of their ever lovin minds by this woman, aren't thinking logically.

YOU may forgive her or ‘understand” her valid rationale...but don’t think that is an easy one to “explain”

I understood it when she explained it, which took a minute or two.

“Are you also using Wikipedia and the MSM as the descriptors of Ck?”

What in the world are you talking about? It doesn't look like your recovery is going too well.

I just know that she CANNOT win the general election. Period.

Seriously, would you want to share a foxhole with you in the next war?

Herman would be my #2 choice behind Sarah. If Sarah doesn’t run but Herman does - there is a very good chance he’d have my primary vote. But if Sarah does run, there is no way I’m not voting for her.

Certain elements of medieval orthodox Ashkenazi Jews in Russia were more into “Holy Rolling” than likely most fundamentalists Christians probably have ever considered, even after observing the “phenomenon” in Christian Churches of the American South and heartland.

Haley, who I like BTW, wouldn't stand a chance. His accent alone makes him the poster child for the Klan (in Liberal eyes), and his recent comments on the Civil Rights era will be twisted in to something a modern day Bull Conner would have said.

Sorry, that's just the way it is. Him and Obama on a stage together with the moderator asking race baiting questions, just imagine that.

Well, if Sarah Palin gets the nomination, I will vote for her as will any number of folks who have the attitude that she can win, and will, if the Republican party goes all out to support her. If they do not and she happens to lose, so be it. I will still be a Republican who put up a good fight to take back this Republic from the anti Americans who work night and day to destroy this country and install their own socialist/communist version of heaven on earth. We Republicans who have supported our party for many years, trusting leadership to do the right thing for our country, are now saying that leadership has led to President Obamanation and it is now time for a new, invigorated, leadership of OUR choosing to step up and get this country back on track.Time for a new team with positive attitudes and slates clean of past political favors and trade offs and political maneuvering for power. The old guard has become weak or uncaring of their job to protect and defend this Republic and if a Palin loses so will they. So at least that will be accomplished.

Agreed. If you watched Palin on Hannity last night, that is exactly what she said and has said all along.

Hell, I'm still trying to figure out how we ended up with McCain in 2008.

The post above describes Palin’s argumentation as thin and scattered. I think that description is spot-on. That's my main concern with her. It's also the antithesis of what Reagan was, even in the early days of his political life.

Sorry, friend, but I really think you're selling Palin short. There's a very good reason that you're seeing so much unbridled support for her here, and it's because, like Reagan, she's the real deal. There is simply no one else in the current pantheon of Republican hopefuls who can beat her in a side by side comparison of qualifications for the office of president.

If you haven't already, pick up her book, "Going Rogue" and give it a read. I think you'll be impressed.

There are some men who are brilliant in one aspect of life such as psychiatry, but who become helplessly insecure, concrete-bound children, blind to any abstactions or principles, seeing nothing but the immediate moment, when their focus is on current politics.
