The NAACP is calling on Sarah Palin and Dick Armey to forcefully denounce what the civil rights group calls racism in the ranks of the tea party movement.
In a call with reporters to tout a new report on some tea partiers' ties to hate groups, NAACP president Benjamin Todd Jealous slammed the former Alaska governor for working with the Tea Party Express, whose now-expelled leader, Mark Williams, ignited a firestorm earlier this year after a string of racist and anti-Muslim comments.
In response to a question from The Upshot, Jealous charged that the Tea Party Express, a prominent tea party group run by a California GOP consultant, has yet to fully hold Williams responsible for his remarks.
"Palin is out there with Tea Party Express, which hasn't held Williams to account," Jealous said, adding that Palin should "distance herself from Tea Party Express until they've held Williams accountable."
Williams has referred to Allah as a "monkey God." And in July, after the NAACP passed a resolution condemning racism in the tea party movement, Williams penned an online mock-letter, written in the voice of Jealous, suggesting that blacks were happier under slavery. The Tea Party Express denounced the letter and ousted Williams from the group's leadership soon after. Williams has since apologized for the letter and had it removed.
Earlier this week, Palin helped launch the Tea Party Express's latest bus tour with a speech in Reno, Nev...

Yes indeed, we need to call out the racists in the NAALCP
The democrats are putting on the full court press. My mother tells me that Slick Willy (the first black president) is coming to Michigan to campaign for Schauer, Dingell, and Bernero.
Yes, as soon as we find one, we’ll do that. Just that we ain’t seen one yet.
Oh, and while we’re at it, don’t forget to condemn the racists in the NAACP.
Matthew 7.
The failure of the progressive movement to acknowledge racism in its ranks while decrying racism among conservatism reduces their claims to ignorance and cheap slander. Racism in the black community is every bit as disreputable as racism in the white community. Both are unacceptable.
The ridiculous notion that there is no racism among blacks is clear evidence that racism is not the problem. Class warfare and statism have taken over the racial equality movement. Racial hatred is no longer the issue it was 50 years ago. Today it is supplanted by politics. The leadership of the NAACP is motivated by politics, not racism.
Slick Willy is coming to Michigan...hide all the women..
Obama is coming here to LA on Friday..to USC..my brother works there, he told me all the pipsqueaks who want Government handouts will be attending “Please Master Obama, I need some food, some gas, money to pay my mortgage”
Yep. They were quite smug and comfy when no one was spreading that despicable pro-American Sprit of truth and honesty to normal patriotic Americans.
Now that the racist's rants from NAACP are being discovered for what they really are the wailing, screeching and finger pointing from their bigoted clan is defining.
TEA Party must be on target, the flack is getting thick...
The NAACP should first forcefully condemn Nation of Islam, New Black Panthers, and Al Sharpton, to start with.
So, they find a subset group, calling itself a tea party, and then generalize the claim of racism. As opposed to the reality that there is a large demographic of independent and conservative black voters who are involved in the tea party movement- they own businesses and try to make payroll. This “jealous” is well named, and completely out of touch. An advanced form of “race card” attempting to be played again. Something to gin up their knee jerk votes.
“the wailing, screeching and finger pointing from their bigoted clan is defining.”
Deafening?
Heck, it works either way.
On the other hand she should demand that the NAACP condemn the racists in the NAACP and the Black Panthers. And a start would be to change their name from NAACP - which itself is a racist name, to something else.
What I'm rally encouraged about and want to encourage Tea Party America about is to keep the faith. They've been slandered, lied about by mainstream media calling them racist, fear mongers and violence inciters, and none of that is true.
And yet they've been persevering all of that adversity and all of that extra challenge. They are standing strong, standing committed to their message. It is the right message for America and I want to encourage them to keep the faith, keep it up.
Sarah Palin , October 18, 2010, Reno, NV
>>>He should lead by example and condemn all of the racists in the NAA(L)CP first.
That would be my response.
And I guarantee Barrack Hussein Obama did his best to facilitate that racism.
Indeed. That is what real conservative leaders need to do. But I don't think there is one conservative in this nation that will do so. Most so called GOP 'leaders' tap dance.
This is WAY too easy.. Call a news conference... stand up in front of the cameras and say clearly and loudly. The tea party is not a part of the Republican party, however, We will be glad to denounce racism in the public arena, particularly the racists such as Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton,Maxine Waters, and the Black Caucus... film at eleven...
The racists down at the “Klan With A Tan” (Dr. Walter Williams) are trying to save their commie ‘RAT massas’ butts. Someday, they are going to have to grow up and move off of the ‘RAT plantation. Then, and only then will they understand what it means to be free. With the future of America at stake, race hustlers aren’t as intimidating as they once were.
They just can’t find a paint brush broad enough for the whole tea party.
