Rumors have ramped up recently concerning Sarah Palin's activities and her political plans for 2012.
As always Palin is a controversial figure. She continues to draw huge crowds wherever she appears and many, but not all, of her endorsements have paid off the candidates in the primary season.
Some say she has no chance, she's too divisive, they won't support her. What do you say? Please leave a comment to explain your reasons for your answer.
Rush LImbaugh had some comments yesterday about conservative candidates who are controversial.

Just because some are vocal in their hatred does not mean she has radical positions. Many many hated George W. Bush, but I think we would almost all agree that he was a moderate conservative. Definitely NOT a radical — yet look at all the venomous hatred toward him.
To answer your question best, most (not all) of those that hate Sarah do so because she has inspired a huge amount of enthusiastic support. Basically because she is inspiring conservatives. Think about it — I absolutely hate Obama, but wouldn’t really care much about him if he was still the junior senator from Illinois who voted very liberal. Only after he became prominent, inspired a following, became elected to a powerful office — that’s when things get emotional.
Don’t forget that Barack got elected with very little credentials. Remember that until she was smeared mercilessly by the media in 2008, Sarah was a unbelievably popular Governor. The double and triple standards are quite baffling when it comes to questioning her credentials. No one questions Romney’s — but what’s he really done? Served one term as Governor and oversaw the Winter Olympics. What makes Bolton’s credentials so valid? Thune is finishing his first term in the Senate. DeMint is in his first Senate term. These are not obviously superior credentials, yet I don’t see this being raised as an issue. Many have been spooked by the media and those that hate Sarah, but upon close examination, the arguments against Sarah have very little merit.

I think that Sarah knows in her heart that it's her destiny to take the helm of the nation, and that the time for her to do that is not six years, or ten years out - but now - when the danger to our nation is greatest.
She can't help but look at the field of presidential hopefuls and know in her bones that none of them will do what must be done as president. Among them all, she alone has the courage and the fortitude to do the things that are necessary to right our listing ship of state, despite the political danger to herself.
That is her style and her legacy, and it's why the ruling class fears her more than any human alive.

I have no idea. My sister and I found it odd when my stepmother made that comment. Course she loves Gore and she she brought him up we laughed.
I'm guessing as the other poster pointed out, it must be the abortion issue, at least for women. Maybe guys just can't get into a female President? Not sure. For me abortion is a no compromise issue. Its one of the things I like about her, she walks the walk.
Those of us here, know that, and aren't swayed. I'd vote for her. It's the rest of the country that is worrisome. We can't take another 4 years Barf Orama. We have to win.

Unfortunately, the Presidential election isn't now. A lot can happen in two years.
I know you won’t like it, but some independents and dems are going to find her strong religious beliefs and pro life stance as radical. I don’t, but they will. But, hey, no answer I give is going to satisfy you. I think you already scared others off the thread. lol
That is precisely how conservatives fail, and how the left has driven us as close to the precipice of disaster as they have.
Turn it around. She risked upsetting you and your sister, knowing that she's not liable to see you again for a long time to come. You and your sister let her get away with condemning your values by implication, and you did nothing to stand up for what you believe in.
Make no mistake. Sarah Palin IS the leading spokesperson for conservatism at this moment in time. People who attack her, attack our core American values. It's got nothing to do with the person of Sarah Palin. It's got everything to do with the threat she represents to the degraded left.
If you're unwilling to defend your principles with close associates, it's no wonder that you're buying in to the left's campaign of destruction against Sarah Palin.

I’m guessing that people don’t like your “I’d vote for her” as far as the implied attitude. Like “if there’s not a better choice . . .” type attitude. Sarah is a once in a lifetime type candidate. We should be ecstatic to be able to enthusiastically promote her candidacy. No one expects liberals or even moderates to like her. But by most polls, 40% or so of the country count themselves as conservatives. That is more than enough to win the primary. Then it is a matter of fighting for the moderates. Remember, Barack isn’t doing well with moderates either.
I completely agree with “we have to win”. But often playing safe will lead to a loss — in 2008 the thought was that McCain would appeal to independents. In football, the prevent defense works poorly. One will hear, “the best defense is a good offense”. Getting an enthusiastic base and fighting for the moderates will be a good strategy. Remember, no one will be a safe bet against an incumbent president.

My dad is old and frail. I probably won't see him again before he passes. It just wasn't the time to make a scene.
I did that a few years back during Christmas with a different section of the family. My sister in law taught bible school at the time and voted for Clinton. We were in the kitchen alone and I told her I didn't understand how someone that goes to church every week and taught bible school could vote for a pro abortion President. I asked her how she reconciled that? She walked away, went upstairs and didn't come back down the rest of the evening! LOL

That works out to 15% PDSers in our camp. It about matches what I see around here.
Neither was Reagan in 1978.
That isn't what I mean to imply at all. I'd gladly vote for her whether she heads the ticket or is VP on it. Its the independents and dems we need to pull, that I'm not sure will feel as comfortable as I do with her. I think they'd be more apt if she were listed as VP, that's just my opinion.
