Last night I watched Karl Rove drive the final nails into his political coffin, as he double-downed his attacks against Christine ODonnell, on Greta Van Susterens show On The Record. It may be awhile before the funeral takes place, but the coffin is finished, no doubt.
The night before I had watched as Rove began his public self-immolation, on The Sean Hannity Show. Hannity, to his credit, defended ODonnell against Roves surprising (to me, at least) and graceless attack, after her win against Power Elite insider, Mike Castle, in the Delaware Republican primary.
(Kudos to Sean Hannity for standing up to Rove, however, I hope he wont mind a bit of friendly advice: lose the UN-blue power tie. Its a bit of sartorial style that was first popularized by the anointed one himself, Obamabesides, well its UN-blue).
Response to Roves rant by true conservatives was immediate, and almost unanimously, negative.
Rush Limbaugh said, Everyone I know that saw this was justthey were perplexed and said, Whats going on?
Michelle Malkin noted that, Rove came across as an effete sore loser instead of the supposedly brilliant and grounded GOP strategist that hes supposed to be.
Last night when Van Susteren had Rove on her show, I fully expected to see some fancy damage-control back-pedaling. Nope.
Figuratively speaking, Rove took out hammer and nails, and went about sealing his political coffin, with a will. If youll permit me to mix metaphors, his aim was unerring, when it came to shooting himself in the foot. His performance was stunningly tone deaf, arrogant, and elitist.

That would sure be "out of sight, out of mind." lol
Can’t disagree...but, today the Republican Party is in charge and we do need their support to defeat the (Republican Party - heh)...
Sometimes you have to come into the back door to gain control... They don’t know it yet, but they are being transformed and vetted...only those that are for America will survive.
“Cool...”
So was Joplin, Freddie Prinze, Hendrix, River Phoenix, Evariste Galois, Len Bias, Jean Harlow and so many more were of pop-culture and cool yet what real long-term social redeeming value did they produce.
Yet having a politician act and sound like Bart, all you get is:
Barney Frank,
Christopher Dodd,
Richard Durbin,
Charles Rangel,
Al Franken,
Charles Schumer,
Arlen Specter,
John Kerry,
Al Core
Yeah, but dems really hated the guy. I’m not sure they would ever take him in.
There ya’ go. It’s a start.
Hmmm. Why is it I can only think of one Republican who managed to rise to the top in her state while single-handedly cleaning out and reforming her party? It seems there’s only one Republican out there who’s had experience and success in just this circumstance.
Politically dead man walking.
LLS
There were announcements that Rove was supposed to be on Hannity’s radio show, and by 6:00PM, I wondered if I had missed the interview. Alright, at least now I know that it didn’t happen. Thanks.
Notice how Newt is way over on one side, leaning away, as Nanzi tries to scoot closer?
No need to get smart-alec...! I do agree that many times, especially today, that many underdogs will succeed. It does at times take a party backing to change that though - not as much as they think, and certainly not as much today... That may change, but today, all is good.
We've got a way to go yet, but we are making progress. People like Rove and Cornyn have to be removed from having any responsibility for picking our candidates. They're the ones that handpicked people like Crist and Castle to be the supported candidates. Once they picked them, they didn't just step aside and tell them they were on their own in the primary. Rove and Cornyn et al did as much they could to fend off conservative challengers.
Even if O'Donnell loses in the general election, I think the party is stronger for not having a liberal like Castle having the clout of being a sitting senator, forcing the party to the left. If she wins (which I think she will), she pushes things that much further in the right direction. She's going to have a lot more loyalty to people like Palin than to the leadership in the party that tried to kill her political career.
I swear that the libs have none of the fun we do! Well done! LOL!
You betcha! I love the way you think...I am the same.
I can only hope that the rest of America finally understands the problems that we are causing with this administration.
In case you have not noticed... Time are a-changing...
“I even heard Mike Castle speak on the topic of his loss” He didn’t call Christine to congratulate her after his loss.. What a classless piece of work.
And it’s a beautiful thing.
Heh...thanks, and you betcha... I really love this Tea Party Revolution and hope that it becomes 75% of the nation (of course that eliminates liberals)...
“He seems to be following the path he laid out for Bush. First get half the people to hate you, and then work to destroy any goodwill you have with the rest.”
Grand slam home run.
I think I’m steppin in reindeer doo
And I ain’t wearing no shoes
Oh what is this mystery goo?
O Reilly is continuing it tonight.
I’m guessing Rove owes O Reilly a thank you.
