Tom Campbell low on cash in final week of U.S. Senate push

WASHINGTON – Behind in the polls and the race for money, Senate GOP candidate Tom Campbell has dropped his plan to run network television ads statewide, an admission that the campaign is in dire financial shape as the campaign enters its final days.

It's bad news for the former congressman and good news for Carly Fiorina, the former chief executive officer of Hewlett-Packard and the front-runner in the race. She led Campbell by 38 percent to 23 percent in the latest Los Angeles Times/USC poll.

"We had a buy reserved through the end of the campaign, and we canceled," Jamie Fisfis, Campbell's spokesman, said Wednesday. "We pulled it. That doesn't mean that we won't rebuy some of it, but we're not up today. It was a financial decision."

So if he cannot manage his campaign funds, why would we think he can manage our tax dollars?

I’m voting for DeVore, but Fiorina has this one wrapped up. Now it’s on to November, and the goal is to get rid of the execrable Boxer, once and for all.

Woohoo. Instead of a RINO, we get a different RINO. I’m so damn happy.

I’m voting for DeVore.
Good. We need more taking that stand. Should either of the other two win the GOP nomination, it leaves us with nothing to do but get rid of Boxer.

With Fiorino and even Campbell winning, that gives the McCain branch of the GOP a boost they desperately need.

Indeed, the Statist Fiorino and her moneyed backers have been throwing gobs of money and PR to steal the teaparty resentment over Washington. (E.g.: I just this minute I received a robocall from John Kyl. It said "paid for by the Susan B Anthony list").

A RINO/Statist win would be BAD for conservatives. What conservative likes playing cowering dog, accepting whatever scraps the Statist Wing of the GOP will allow you?

When DeVore wins, that leaves conservatives with someone worth getting behind.

So, I've started early. I've been phoning neighbors on behalf of Chuck. It's not been easy, but I'm given DeVore a bit more recognition and even won a few over.

The primary election is the right time for your passionate principle. Try it, you'll like it.
