PHOENIX, AZ U.S. Senator John McCains re-election campaign today issued the following statement from campaign Communications Director Brian Rogers on former Congressman J.D. Hayworth entering the Republican primary this morning:
Senator John McCain has full confidence that the people of Arizona will again return him to the U.S. Senate this year and will work hard to earn their continued support. Senator McCain understands that to earn the votes of hardworking Arizonans, you first have to respect them by telling the truth. Former Congressman Hayworth obviously disagrees, and it was sad to see him use blatant lies and fabrications to attack Senator McCain when he officially entered the race for U.S. Senate today. Some examples:
Mr. Hayworth falsely said today that Senator McCain supported the Obama budget when in fact Senator McCain not only opposed the Obama budget, but offered an alternative for the Republicans focused on pro-growth economic policies, eliminating wasteful pork barrel spending and help for small businesses.
Mr. Hayworth falsely said today that Senator McCain supported banking legislation with earmarks when in fact the bill that Senator McCain voted for included no earmarks whatsoever, and unlike Mr. Hayworth, Senator McCain has never sought a pork barrel earmark and led the fight to ban the practice.
Mr. Hayworth falsely said today that Senator McCain supports amnesty when in fact Senator McCain has never supported amnesty, and continues to fight every day to secure our borders first and find solutions to solve our immigration problem.
Mr. Hayworth falsely said today that Senator McCain was on the liberals side on some of the most important issues of the day, apparently forgetting Senator McCains courageous fight for the successful Iraq surge, his lead role opposing President Obamas failed stimulus plan and attempted government takeover of our health care system, and his longstanding fight against wasteful spending regardless of which party is in leadership.
One would think that when asking Arizonans to entrust him to represent them in the U.S. Senate, Mr. Hayworth would have the decency to at least respect them enough to tell the truth. Instead, Mr. Hayworth has started his campaign with a litany of lies. Sorry J.D., the people of Arizona arent stupid. Theyre on to you.
Mr. Hayworth has obviously resorted to lies and distortion today because he has no record of his own to stand on. We look forward to reminding Arizona voters about Mr. Hayworths real record of liberal big government spending and ethically questionable conduct, including:
Mr. Hayworth voted for the 2005 Highway Bill that included 6,500 pork barrel earmarks totaling more than $24 billion including $200 million for the infamous Bridge to Nowhere. Senator McCain opposed that obscene spending bill, has never sought an earmark and sponsored legislation to kill the Bridge to Nowhere.
Mr. Hayworth voted for the Prescription Drug Benefit that added a huge new entitlement to Medicare and left American taxpayers with trillions in unfunded liabilities. Senator McCain led the charge against it.
Mr. Hayworth was the largest recipient of campaign contributions tied to the corrupt lobbyist Jack Abramoff. Senator McCain led the investigation that exposed Abramoffs corruption.
Mr. Hayworth today promised to serve only two terms if elected, but he made and broke a similar pledge when he first ran for Congress, so why would anyone believe him now?
The fact is, the people of Arizona rejected Mr. Hayworths undistinguished record when they resoundingly voted him out of his solidly Republican U.S. House seat in 2006.
Senator McCain looks forward to discussing Mr. Hayworths record as well as his own positive vision for a stronger, safer, and more prosperous America.

its NOT complicated, juan.....it's called ENFORCE OUR IMMIGRATION LAWS !
My feelings exactly. You are absolutely right on.
As I you know -- listened to her on like -- Larry Cadaver King, I kept thinking about something about which Boortz frequently reminds -- you know -- his male audience: At some point, youll have to try to have a conversation with her. I also kept thinking you know -- that she HAS to be from like California or somewhere until I remembered that you know -- Arizona also has like valleys and you know really big holes in the ground.
bttt your #16: McCains record speaks for itself. He FULLY supports amnesty.
I get so tired of these politicians twisting the English language...but if McCain has his way, ENGLISH won’t mean anything anyway! They prefer ‘reform’ to calling it what it is...AMNESTY! Any time you hear a politican call for ‘reform’ of anything..run the other way!
AMNESTY Pronunciation [am-nuh-stee]
noun
1. a general pardon for offenses, esp. political offenses, against a government, often granted before any trial or conviction.
2. Law. an act of forgiveness for past offenses, esp. to a class of persons as a whole.
3. a forgetting or overlooking of any past offense.
verb (used with object)
4. to grant amnesty to; pardon.
you make a really good point
“Mr. Hayworth falsely said today that Senator McCain supported the Obama budget when in fact Senator McCain not only opposed the Obama budget, but offered an alternative for the Republicans focused on pro-growth economic policies, eliminating wasteful pork barrel spending and help for small businesses.”
McCain is a liar.

Legislation now being drafted by lawmakers primarily Sens. Ted Kennedy and John McCain would allow millions of illegal immigrants in the United States to apply for citizenship.
The Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2007, or, in its full name, the Secure Borders, Economic Opportunity and Immigration Reform Act of 2007 (S. 1348) was a bill discussed in the 110th United States Congress that would have provided legal status and a path to citizenship for the approximately 12 to 20 million illegal immigrants currently residing in the United States.
The USA would accept at least 400,000 foreign workers each year. Their visas would last three years.
Illegal aliens already in the U.S.A., and they number more than 10 million, would have to register, pay a $2,000 fine, clear a criminal background check, and pass an English language exam. If they did that and had a job, they could stay in this country and apply for citizenship in six years.
“Mr. Hayworth was the largest recipient of campaign contributions tied to the corrupt lobbyist Jack Abramoff. Senator McCain led the investigation that exposed Abramoffs corruption.
McCain is a bare faced liar!”
Yes, indeed he is. He’s not going to stop at any dirty trick to stay in the Senate (and on CBS every darn Sunday!)
Indians, Lobbyists and Arizona Politics...OH MY!
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2440173/posts
[snip]The scene is the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut . The year 2000. The congressman has $100 chips stacked high, having a grand time at the crap table. He likes to gamble and isn’t afraid to show some temper when he loses. Along for the ride are his campaign manager and one of the two biggest lobbyist handing out campaign money from various Indian tribes who was also a 20 year friend of the legislator.
By now we’ve all heard about the money J.D. Hayworth received from an Indian tribe by way of disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff, who was one of the two big boys in Indian tribe money lobbying.
Pot, meet Kettle....
However, it was not J.D. Hayworth, nor Jack Abramoff at the crap table. It was Senator John McCain, campaign manager and Indian lobbyist in his own right, Rick Davis, along with Scott Reed, now the one remaining big time lobbyist handling the tribes and their money.
National Review wrote:
That would be this New York Times story, describing McCain playing the craps table with Rick Davis and Scott Reed. Davis is a longtime McCain friend and associate, currently his campaign manager, who runs a lobbying firm that represented Indian tribes with casino interests. Reed also worked as a lobbyist for Indian tribes, but he was also Bob Dole’s campaign manager in 1996, where McCain is a top surrogate
Another article further describes the scene.
” McCain was betting at a casino he oversaw as a member of the Senate Indian Affairs Committee, and he was doing so with the lobbyist who represents that casino.
The visit had been arranged by the lobbyist, Scott Reed, who works for the Mashantucket Pequots, a tribe that has contributed heavily to McCain’s campaigns and built Foxwoods into the world’s second-largest casino. Joining them was Rick Davis, McCain’s campaign manager. Their night of good fortune epitomized not just McCain’s affection for gambling, but also the close relationship he has built with the gambling industry and its lobbyists during his 25-year career in Congress.
As a two-time chairman of the Indian Affairs Committee, McCain has done more than any other member of Congress to shape the laws governing America’s casinos, helping to transform the once-sleepy Indian gambling business into a $26-billion-a-year behemoth with 423 casinos across the country.
As factions of the ferociously competitive gambling industry have vied for an edge, they have found it advantageous to cultivate a relationship with McCain or hire someone who has one, according to an examination based on more than 70 interviews and thousands of pages of documents.
McCain portrays himself as a Washington maverick unswayed by special interests, referring recently to lobbyists as “birds of prey.” Yet in his current campaign, more than 40 fund-raisers and top advisers have lobbied or worked for an array of gambling interests - including tribal and Las Vegas casinos, lottery companies, and online poker purveyors.
When rules being considered by Congress threatened a California tribe’s planned casino in 2005, McCain helped spare the tribe. Its lobbyist, who had no prior experience in the gambling industry, had a nearly 20-year friendship with McCain.”
Hayworth’s explanation of the Abramoff contribution is spelled out by him here. Hayworth got direct contributions of $2,250 from Abramoff, which was donated to charity, Hurricane Katrina relief. The Indian tribe in question insisted the money they gave by way of Abramoff be kept by Hayworth.
“Senator McCain has never supported amnesty,...”
McCain = LIAR = Bullscat.
Go JD. Can’t wait for the debate.
Game, set, match.

McCain ‘08 bid losing steam - Hurt by backing of alien ‘ amnesty ‘
Washington Times, The (DC) - Wednesday, June 13, 2007
Author: Ralph Z. Hallow, THE WASHINGTON TIMES
EXCERPT
During a campaign stop in San Francisco, he defended what critics call the amnesty portion of the immigration bill.
“If you call anything short of rounding up 12 million people and deporting them amnesty , then OK,” Mr. McCain said. “But this proposal in my view in no way meets the definition of amnesty .”
Now that’s a classic!!
What constitutes a “litany”?
