During the 1980 Conservative Republican revolution, President Reagan introduced a "big tent" philosophy into the Republican party, however this big tent revolved around a set group of Conservative principles which could not be ignored. These principles included fiscal conservatism, limited government, strong national defense, and family values became the set principles of the Republican party.

In reality, Reagan wanted all that agreed with a set number of principles first, then strayed on other issues later. Over the past 4 years, the party corrupted by 5 terms in power began spending like liberals, expanding government, and even at times voting anti-family values.

We reeled from these missfollowings of Conservative principles, even on border security - national defense we balked on, however our principles are coming back to focus.

Enter Senator Arlen Specter.

You can’t win without some moderates in states that will never elect conservatives such as PA.

According to the WA Post, Specter had this to say:

“In an announcement that shocked colleagues on both sides of the aisle, Specter, of Pennsylvania, said he had become increasingly uncomfortable as a moderate in a party dominated by conservatives and would join the Democrats. He BLUNTLY (sic) admitted that his decjision was tied to his belief that he could NOT WIN (sic) re-election as a Republican next year.”

Specter, the RINO, made a deal with the devil. obozo wouldn’t publicly support him unless Specter changed sides. (NOTE: Former Pres. Bush publicly supported him in the last election.) Given that Specter voted with the demoncRATS rather than his own party, it’s not surprising that he did the dirty evil. What’s so surprising is that it took Specter so long to make the change. That Chairmanship of the Senate Judiciary is the one thing that Specter wants to keep. Wonder why?

Of course its a blessing. That’s one less RINO that gives the excuse that we better vote for the R over the D.
