Perk up your ears fellow conservatives, I've encountered a new revelation among liberal academic circles.... according to liberal professors on the UTSA campus if you do not agree with a policy, it's not that you disagree with it, it's just that you don't understand the policy enough to like it.
The only class I hate attending this semester happens to be my Public Policy and Administration course. (I didn't have much of a choice according to my academic advisor, so just go with me on this one please.) The teacher is liberal and I've raised my hand to sound off more than once in that class. We happily reached the issue of (dum dum dummmmmm) affirmative action. Fortunately, I was not the first to speak out on this matter. Another (observant) classmate of mine gave a scenario where he was up for a position and met all the requirements. In this same scenario we have another individual, a minority, who was being considered for the same position, but did not have the same qualifications. My classmate asked if that individual was more likely to get the position than he would be, considering that he was a white male. The professor said "no, that's not how affirmative action works"...

Shine the light of truth on the pri@k. Make ‘em famous.
Thank you for the post.
It’s good to know that I’m not alone in thinking Affirmative Action is a bad policy; for much the same reason as the original author cites: it is unjust to discriminate against people based on things they have no control over (parentage [race], sex, age, etc.) and the only way to really/justly decide is based on merit/qualifications.
Keep up the good work! Nice to see some of the younger generation can still think for themselves!
Not quite. Ah but a Hispanic that is
PART BLACK
with OVARIES
who is an AMPUTEE
and has PTSD
and had a Cherokee GRANDMOTHER
and is a GAY DYSLEXIC
is the
ULTIMATE DIVERSITY HIRE!
I think there may be alot of that from people on FR.
I think I love you!!!!
Seriously, it warms my heart to hear your perspective.
Considering how young liberal Americans can’t seem to articulate their political position without rancor, it’s nice to hear from an articulate young conservative.
I’m sure you will be very successful in anything you do.
I recommend this for the book bag!
Clearly you CORRECTED my shortsightedness:

YES, YOU have it ALL.
THAT is the ultimate “diversity” hire -
Ah one more thing - she HATES America with a chip on the should attitide - an “entitled one”. It’s just a small detail.
Now that B. Hussein Obama has been elected Prez, it’s time to repeal Affirmative Action. How can you continue to blame “the man” when you is “the man”?
Thank you so much...that’s very sweet...i’m a harley girl too if that helps. ha.
It’s important for me and my fellow bloggers to let America know that their are people within our generation who don’t spend our spare time listening to MTVnews or Michael Moore in order to form an opinion.
Thank you again and I appreciate your kind words.
Well I’ve been a conservative for 22 years (and nine months including the womb)...that’s not likely to change.
Every lesbian I’ve worked with turned out to be very decent and competent. No nightmares. Had one possibly gay guy as a secretary and he was the best most efficient admin we ever had.
Wow, better than me.
I had to join the Army to become a conservative.
Well, they don’t have any children to interfere with work.
“There is a class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs. There is a certain class of race-problem solvers who don’t want the patient to get well.”
