Google displaying computer damage warning on GOP search
Google search results ^
Posted on 10/18/2008 11:04:01 AM PDT by glock_fan
I went on line to find the phone number of my local GOP headquarters and I googled California GOP. What I got was a list of valid GOP sites but every one has a warning stating that the site may harm your computer.
I notified the GOP rep. about this. He believes a hacker is at work.
No such problem with Yahoo.

Hopefully some RNC lawyer will have a chat with them about the legal recourse available to the GOP for falsely and maliciously saying that cagop.org is a malware site.

No problem for me. I use Firefox and AVG anti-virus. Are yall using IE?
This has nothing to do with your browser and anti-virus. It is reported by google and if you did that search then you got the "This site may harm your computer." message.

The California GOP is running a PORN website?
To: Old Professer
I don’t think so. That site is run by an operator in Tampa, Florida.

That report looks like google is the source of some of the malware?

“...Folks this is not a virus. Google is deliberately doing this....My guess is they are trying to slow down the YES ON PROP 8 folk...”
I just spoke to Mr. Cummings of the McCain Campaign.
I’m going to Florida to work for Liberty! Yah!
I relayed this Google issue to him, he said he would pass the information along.

Never click a google link that is an advertisement, they make money that way. Use there service while not rewarding them for it by cutting and pasting the URL into your browser’s address bar. That way google does not get ad $$ for it.
