Pollster John Zogby says the presidential race is still too close to call and could come down to the very last weekend before voters decide if they like or distrust Barack Obama.
With non-stop favorable coverage by the media, Obama should be twenty or more points ahead.
The report at the link below says:
Zogbys latest poll, released yesterday in conjunction with C-Span and Reuters, shows Obama and John McCain in a statistical dead heat, with the Illinois Democrat up 48-45 percent.
Zogby said the race mirrors the 1980 election, when voters didnt embrace Ronald Reagan over then-President Jimmy Carter until just days before the election.
Polls showed Walter Mondale ahead of Ronald Reagan in 1984 and Mike Dukakis ahead of George H.W. Bush in 1988. In 2000 polls showed Al Gore ahead and in 2004 polls showed John Kerry ahead.
This can only suggest that push polling was used.
There are many forms of push polling. The most common is to include more of one major political party than the other in the sampling base. Also, questions to respondents can be worded so that the desired result is obtained.
This year push polling is even easier by simply including a larger percent of blacks in the sample to show an Obama lead.
A discussion about polling should also include the exit polling on election day in 2004.
The early exit polls from precincts in Virginia showed an overwhelming lead for John Kerry, which had the Kerry Edwards campaign singing and dancing until the real vote counts came in.
It was an obvious ploy to try to influence voters in western states by showing a Kerry win in the making.
If a pollster calls you, he has your phone number and your address.
What goes on in the voting booth is another matter.
Barry Alinsky used this very well in the caucii but it didn't really work in ballot primaries.
If you really examine his path to candidate, he won the rigged system, not the will of the Dem. voters.
It's funny that the Alinsky system shows how to twist and bend a system to your views, but it doesn't handle what to do when you've actually captured the system to rule. It's all about influencing from the background. Barrybaby lost his aura and guidebook when he actually got the nomination. I still think to this day that he only set out to be VP-Title, influence and no responsibility.
I believe the polls are just as dishonest as ACRON is when it comes to getting dead people, dogs, cats, and people feeling out voter reg. cards 20 times. If John McCain does lose it will because of voter fraud! I am not very convinced that Obama won for his party it should have been Hillary It seems that ACRON was very active during the primary We can only pray and hope that McCain does win
There's a new "trendy catch phrase" here every 15 minutes. I can barely keep up myself...lol!
As a side note, the on line conversation on with my fantasy football team is getting interesting. Lots of anti 0bama posts. One of our members is a Russian whose helmet is the Soviet flag. He changed his name to the Moscow 0bamas 3 games ago when he was undefeated and has since lost every game. When he played me I changed my name to the Hillcountry McCainiacs and handed him a beating. The league manager posted a league wide note saying I saved the rest of the league from Communism LOL.
Imagine if McCain split the vote 50-50 with Fred Thompson and then didn’t ask him to be VP and Thompson basically refused to campaign for McCain. Imagine how pissed Thompson supporters would be at McCain and I would guess a huge number would sit out if Hussein wasn’t the alternative.
Since everyone is losing money these days, I say it’s time to put the POLLSTERS out of business. Permanently.
I have relatives in another state, who are all raging Libs (no, they aren’t on welfare — they are all professionals who make good money, so go figure). I was never close with any of them, but now that the folks are gone, since they want to foist socialism on me and the rest of my country, I have little to do with them, save the occasional Christmas card and attending funerals.
"That went right over my head. I have no idea what you are talking about."
Mr. Zogby's own words are he takes the raw data "adds his special sauce" and comes out with his results.
Actually I could be wrong, maybe he calls it his "secret sauce."
What he's talking about, nobody knows...just marketing buzz...maybe....
