Anyone put off by McCain’s put down of Rumsfield besides me? I’m grateful for anyone’s support for the surge, but I think Rumsfield was one of the best government servants we have ever had in this country. McCain’s personal problems with him will hurt him IMO.

Why is Ron Paul still “in it” at this juncture? He seems to want the USA to be a turtle and pull our collective heads inside our shell. I just think having him up there and his screaming, looney cohorts in the audience isn’t doing the debate a damn bit of good.

One of the prerequisites for debating in a Republican debate is that the debaters should be Republicans. Why is Ron Paul there?

Rummy is a great public servant I agree with you there. As someone who did not want to put enough troops into the fight, do enough damage to stop all the crap that went on for 2 years.

Because he is a fiscal conservative. He’d be nowhere as a 3rd party candidate and the dems won’t accept a fiscal conservative. Otherwise, he seems to be a separatist.
