From the Thompson campaign, good ol' voter outreach via cell phone:
Dear Friends,
Right now, Fred is traveling all over Iowa delivering his consistent conservative message. He needs your help in getting the word out to even more people. On Thursday night and Saturday we're holding national phone banks calling Iowa voters. All you need is your mobile or land line phone and a computer connected to the internet. With Phone for Fred we provide the phone numbers and a script. Simply go to Phone for Fred and select Iowa to get started.
Person to person contact will make a big difference. There's only 15 days until the Iowa Caucuses. Fred's working hard on the campaign trail talking to as many people as he can. He needs our help to reach even more people in Iowa. One hour on Thursday night and one on Saturday will help identify Fred's supporters and get his consistent conservative message out there.
Thanks,
Sean Hackbarth eCampaign Team Friends of Fred Thompson
P.S. Phone for Fred makes it easy to help Fred in Iowa. Only one hour on Thursday night and one hour on Saturday will help so much.
HUCKABEE - best damn DEMOCRAT in the race.
“SADDLE UP FRED” .... I’ll help on the phone calls.
I’ll give it a go on Saturday. I’ve been meaning to give this a shot to coincide with my relatively small contributions.
GO FRED!
This will be an interesting experiment in telemarketing.
I wonder if campaigns normally begin just two weeks before primaries, to organize calling banks of volunteers, working from home, on their own phones?
I have heard that particularly in NH and Iowa the so called ground game is crucial.
Fred has had the “Phone for Fred” campaign going on for a couple of months.
I think it's a first. I don't know how many little old ladies in Florida he expects to make long distance calls to residents in Iowa telling them how to vote.
In his defense, Fred said he wasn't going to run a traditional campaign, nor did he say he was going to run a successful one.
I have heard that particularly in NH and Iowa the so called ground game is crucial."
You heard correctly. This Phone for Fred campaign is mainly for people that don't live in Iowa, so that they can help out. Team Fred has had people calling and organizing in Iowa for some time, from what I hear.
“Anyone who supports Fred can get involved in this!”
Not if all you have is a land-line and dial-up.
You can print the names and script off, call them, then get back on the PC with the results. Just a little more involved is all, but certainly worth it!!
I’ll have to pass on this until I start making calls for Fred for the Jan 15th primary in Mi.
I’ve been working the gun clubs talking up Fred.
“Ill have to pass on this until I start making calls for Fred for the Jan 15th primary in Mi.
Ive been working the gun clubs talking up Fred.”
That is great that you are working the gun clubs talking up Fred. Are you a NRA member? If so, maybe if you contact them and ask them when they are planning to endorse, they will do it. Seems to me the NRA should endorse a candidate now during this primary. We all know they will be for whomever the Republican nominee is against any DEM. But an endorsement now would really help a Republican candidate in the primary. I believe they would endorse Fred, and just wish they would do it now! GO FRED! :)
If Rooty or Romney get the nomination the NRA will be screwed again with nobody they can endorse.
I have my own personal call and email lists for gun and hunting related news and issues.
I send them Fred stuff every time he writes about gun issues.
Great! I am not a NRA member but did email them to ask about when they would come out with their endorsement. It was some time ago and I did not hear back, so guess I won’t.
