LAURA INGRAHAM, GUEST CO-HOST: One candidate is seeing some challenges, though, in the polls. And that's Fred Thompson, who was in last place in the latest New Hampshire survey, second place in most national polls. And joining us right now from Washington is Jeri Thompson, the wife of Fred Thompson. Jeri, it's great to see you.
JERI THOMPSON, FRED THOMPSON'S WIFE: Thank you so much. Thanks for having me.
INGRAHAM: What — first of all, I'm sure you've just heard the segment we just did. And I am concerned about the debate in this country. And obviously it got heated. But I don't like it whether we have people intimidating other people from speaking on college campuses. And that civility that we need in debates I think is missing in this country. I really do.
THOMPSON: Well, I'm glad you mentioned David Horowitz, because I think that the work that he's done in the center and the books that he's written on this are really important. I think that those are the sort of texts that we ought to be reading. Those are the things that we ought to be talking about. The intimidation not only on the campuses themselves, but you know, through the texts — through the texts that our children are reading, which I know is a concern of you and definitely as a mother of two children. It's a concern to me.

I find it ironic you try to convince every conservative to get behind such a poor candidate who has no chance of winning a general election and is proving the point when he can’t even take off in the GOP primary.
Talk about someone that has never taken off in the GOP primary and you’ll find Hunter front and center.
41 days and the voters will begin to evidence that fact.

No, he hasn't. In all the stump speeches I've seen, or of which I've read transcripts, he might have one throw away line about his acting, but then he gets down to business. He stresses his political service in his home state of TN, being on the Watergate Committee, his 8 years as a Senator from TN, and on the Security Commissions. He's had quite a bit of experience in the areas about which a President needs to be concerned.

I just think the word “chick” is disrespectful when speaking about a wife and mother. Maybe for a young teenage girl, but I prefer young woman or young lady.

BTY, the only thing wrong with hunter is that he seems to have attracted a lot of “nut jobs” as followers... Get it bushfamfan?

Blast from the not so distant past.
“Why don’t you knock it off. I was for Hunter 120% until I realized that the MSM had blocked him from day one. You don’t see a difference between Thompson and Huck-Mclame and Romney? If you don’t you dont deserve a great man like Hunter! I am Thompson/Hunter so that Hunter can win the next time around!”
I also was for Duncan Hunter before Fred Thompson entered the race. I donated to Hunter’s campaign in hopes that he would be able to gain in recognition. It is obvious that he will not win the nomination and that Fred Thompson really does have a chance to become the Republican nominee. I also hope for a Thompson/Hunter ticket so that Hunter will be in line to become President in 2016.
That link no longer works but I was able to go to the Fox News website and find it there. That was an excellent interview. Jeri would make a wonderful First Lady.
