27. If the election were held today for United States Senate, whom would you support, Bill Nelson, the Democrat or Katherine Harris, the Republican?

I hear that vultures are circling over Republican Headquarters in Florida.
40% is a bit hard to fake.
Maybe they jumbled the numbers some, but 40%? No way.
This is just sad.

Nah, I think the carcass has pretty much been picked to the bone.
These are all self-inflicted wounds.
I don't think all the party support in the world would have overcome this. Harris ran a bad campaign and was hurt by scandal and bad media coverage.
No, it's too bad because she's a screaming bitch with a messiah complex who can't retain staff. She should have stayed out to begin with, she has no business in a Senate race.
FL Republicans tried to get her to drop out, but she refused to listen to them. KH just seems to have a martyr complex.
No. But I would certainly like for the GOP to retain the Senate.
Knocking off Nelson would have provided some cushion.
Unfortunately, Katherine Harris decided to provide a case study for the Kennedy School of Government on how NOT to run a campaign for the US Senate.
Everything that she could possibly have botched, she botched.
And Strategic Vision is a GOP polling firm. Whew. Humiliating. Is there any chance she would lose this primary?
What does that have to do with knowing that she can't retain staff, etc.?
Very unlikely. There remains some speculation that she will drop out of the race if she wins the primary, giving the GOP a chance to nominate a viable candidate. But Harris recently denied that she would do this.
"Unfortunately, Katherine Harris decided to provide a case study for the Kennedy School of Government on how NOT to run a campaign for the US Senate.

I couldn't have said it better, myself.
No. I sympathize with your desire to have a conservative on the ballot, I just wish we'd gotten one who can win.
She's unelectable as a US Senator in FL. Everyone knows this. I'm sure that's why she has no support from the party establishment. Apparently through some sort of personal alternate reality she believes she can win, and isn't listening to anyone. She probably has some family and friends that suggest she's perfect for the job (what mother wouldn't say so), and she's running.
If anyone is being "hung out to dry" it's the entire country. Through her personal ego and ambition the Democrats get a free ride in Florida. If the Republicans would have at least ran a serious candidate Nelson would have been challenged causing the DNC to spend lots money down there and the race would have been a real front in the '06 battle. Moreover, if Nelson could have been defeated that would have been an additional vote in the Senate to break a filibuster on court appointments, among many other things.
Katherine Harris has hung us all out to dry.
