The conservative vote is being split in two. That's why this is happening.

It's not a Conservative split though it's a Liberal Republicans vs Conservative split. Nothing ever was or is Conservative about Corker. He's a typical Rockefeller Republican & Liberal as can be with the backing of some big business. Namely the biggest mobile home manufacture in the nation etc.

He was also in the states second worst governors Cabinet as finance Commissioner. The governor who almost bankrupted the state and championed Liberal programs and Liberal spending. The current Dem governor despite being liberal has ran a far more conservative administration than the previous two term Republican did. Hard to believe but true not that he's that much better though.

Bryant IMO would be our best hope. Hilleary needs to get a better web site up as the current one is lacking on saying where he stands on key issues and is far too vague.

Do you ever pay attention to what people say? You'll change the context of the discussion even when someone agrees with you. Good grief you are nuts.

How did he get all the money? Who's been raising it for him?

From what I've understood, he's the choice of neither the grass roots nor the party poobaughs.

Oh, this further proves why Van Hilary needs to drop out and run for his old house seat.

Bob Corker is a very wealthy businessman. I don't know how much of his treasury is from self-financing, but don't be surprised if it's a significant amount.

It wasn't changing the context Brat. It was called discussing it. You used to pull this garbage on me quite a while back. Now don't go away mad just GO!

HELLO? He was talking about the Conservative vote being split between Hilleary and Bryant, not Corker and Bryant.

Good grief, get a clue.

I don't read minds. Several things are splitting the GOP even on a state level and what I said was accurate. He on the other hand was not specific. Me and Wildcat have a history don't worry about it.

If there is a well-funded moderate in a primary, there should be only one conservative.

We lose time after time when conservatives compete for votes.

I think the two will work it out between them. In the mean time Corker has at least one congressman I know for certain doing recorded phone calls on his behalf. He also has some ties to California indirectly kinda hard to explain on the web though. I'll send it to you private. Bryant between the three is the best choice though and Corker? Well you might as well run Sundquist for the office.

Maybe the congressman doing robocalls for Corker is Dennis Hastert (heh). But then, it could be all kinds of congressional wimps, couldn't it? There are many possibilities, I'm afraid.

I heard Zack Wamp making such a call. Their close Chattanooga ties I guess.

Hell fellows, do you really want a man who can't pronounce beauracuracy "bruracracey" to represent us from TN? Corker has the best chance of beating this race-free-ride. I'm supporting him and I urge you to do the same. If the minorities start driving the welfare-train from Memphis we're all screwed.

Maybe some of you folks can give me some information. My husband and I are retiring (I'm already retired) and moving to eastern TN in about one year. We'll be looking for acreage for our dogs, with a nice house for me, a pond full of fish for my husband, and hopefully some deer on the property. We're shooting for the western shoulder of the range, maybe a bit east of the Elizabethton/tri-cities area, or SE of there. We're looking for slightly cooler elevations, maybe 1200' or so, + or - a couple hundred feet. but also hope to avoid heavy snow.

Are there any counties or areas we should avoid? Should we hide the fact that we're from CA? Any pitfalls regarding property purchasing we should watch out for? We're hoping to settle in a rural area in a small, very conservative community. Oh, and we're not Baptsts, lol, so that's probably another strike against us. What is it like living there? Any advice?

I'm not a native of Tennessee, myself, but there are other Freepers who are. I'm sure they'd be glad to give you some moving advice.

Thanks for the hopeful-sounding post.

So far, you're the only person to reply. :>
