I don't think that Partridge should be ruled out. As a successful financial planner and Rapid City Councilman, he has credentials.
Also, anyone who thinks this race isn't particularly important, please remember where John Thune, Tim Johnson, Tom Daschle, Larry Pressler, James Abdnor, and James Abourezk came from before they were elected to the U.S. Senate.
We have so many statewide office holders in SD, I'd sure rather one of them run instead.
That said, the guy doesn't sound like a complete joke, and we really need to beat Herseth by 2010.

What I don't know is if Partridge was elected from a district/ward or if he was elected at-large (city-wide). Are there any South Dakota Freepers who know?
He's not shown to be a member of the Rapid City City Council, but on his website it says he is a member of the "Common Council." I don't know what that is or how it relates to the city council. Apparently this is the second time around that Partridge is running for Congress, having lost the nomination to Larry Diedrich. I just don't think he is the candidate to take down Herseth. As was said, we need a statewide officeholder.
