I don't think that Partridge should be ruled out. As a successful financial planner and Rapid City Councilman, he has credentials.
Also, anyone who thinks this race isn't particularly important, please remember where John Thune, Tim Johnson, Tom Daschle, Larry Pressler, James Abdnor, and James Abourezk came from before they were elected to the U.S. Senate.
We have so many statewide office holders in SD, I'd sure rather one of them run instead.
