I'm having a little trouble finding out what is REALLY happening in Alan Keyes' campaign in Illinois.
Keyes would be such a huge plus not just for the Senate, but for the whole of the United States and, directly, the Free World.
How is he going? Will he beat this week's leftie pinup boy?

I never said any such thing. I was pointing out the ridiculous falseness of the so-called 'autobiography' he was touting as a source.
Anybody who takes a look at that book would naturally question anything the man says subsequently about his life and history.
Just checking. Obama is another left winger and I could never vote for him. However, that doesn't stop me from being embarrassed by the "Obama is a closet Muslim", "Obama is gay", "Obama is bisexual", etc, comments that have been made by some folks on the Keyes threads.
If there are specific, relevant points which you think are false, by all means list them.
It is not my responsibility to prove a negative. You have made a claim: that Barack Obama is a closet Muslim. It is up to YOU to prove it. President Bush doesn't have to refute every half-baked conspiracy theory dreamed up about him, either.
All the quotes about his religion and his name are based on HIS OWN RESUME.
Go back and read the original article by Andy Martin. He takes a few facts from Obama's book, and lathers on a thick layer of his own sheer speculation. All the parts of the article which are alleged to be damning of Obama are fabrications on the part of Martin.

Jim Edgar (for non-illinoisans, he is a former Republican governor of the state) had Obama as the featured guest at the class he teaches at the U of I, and Edgar was effusive in his praise for Obama.
It really is sad that it has come to the point where standing up for common decency has become equated with supporting the opposition.
I am not "enamored of Obama". He is a left-wing Democrat, and the policies he advocates are wrong-headed and bad for America. Not once have I defended his politics.
However, my opposition to him politically does not extend to cheering on those who fabricate lies about him. Bearing false witness is a sin. There is no qualifier in the Ten Commandments saying that it is okay if the man being targeted is a political opponent. So yes, I will defend him against baseless insinuations about his personal life. It is the right thing to do.
I will further add that those who engage in these sorts of smear tactics reflect poorly on FR and the Republican Party. We don't need our own Michael Moores.

I beginning to think you don't want to vote for Keyes but you don't want to vote for a Muslim. So you pretend he isn't a Muslim.
Perhaps you need to do more reading about him other than quotes from his own bio.
