[history]
The only Democrat running an active campaign for the U.S. Senate from Kentucky has won the endorsement of organized labor but lost two experienced staff members.
The Kentucky State AFL-CIO endorsed state Sen. Daniel Mongiardo of Hazard yesterday, sending another signal that no other Democrat is likely to mount an active effort to unseat first-term Republican Sen. Jim Bunning.

Jim Bunning is rested and ready and has raised $4.2 million for his re-election campaign.
The DSCC took the unusual step of endorsing Mongiardo before the filing deadline. Guess they didn't want people to realize he was their last choice to run. All the stronger challengers (Jody Richards, Jonathan Miller, Steve Henry, even Charlie Owen) looked at the race and have apparently decided they have better things to do than lose a senate race.

Jim Bunning must be quivering in his boots when he thinks about challenger Dan Mongiardo's campaign:
[Mogniardo] said the departure of Arnett and Dixen did not stem from a shortage of money. He said he had hired two other employees, whose last names he could not recall, and said they are probably being paid less totally than Arnett and Dixen were.

He's going to be mighty disappointed when David Williams gets the nomination.

Good grief...hired people that he couldn't remember their names?
This is the same guy the Kentucky Democrat party put pictures of carrying around jars of urine waving them in Sen. David Williams' face (the president of the Kentucky Senate, not the same guy as his Senate primary opponent).

In calling Bunning's office, I was told that Bunning opposes Bush's radical amnesty proposal. Bunning will get my vote again.

Then you need to get informed. Bush has proposed a guest worker program. Get it? Got it? Good.

Sorry.. I'm afraid there is much more involved in the "guest worker program" than you probably are aware. The proposal will circumvent the H-1B visa and will put any job on the block. Read the following thread about Arizona Republicans and do a search on FR for more info on exactly what the ramifications of this proposal are:
