Now the LoSox can completely skip pitching their worst pitcher (John Burkett) in this series and go with Wakefield in game 4 instead, if they so choose. They'd then have Lowe going in game 5 and Pedro in game 6 (if necessary). If the Sox can somehow push this thing to game 7, they'd probably start Burkett and empty out their pen at the first sign of trouble, using anybody and everybody (including Wakefield, Lowe, and even Pedro)....even for only a batter or two at a time.

But it doesn't matter -- all this does is prolong the Yankees' inevitable trip to the World Series.

The radar in the above post clearly shows that the rain is over. I've never seen a game postponed after the rain has stopped.

I believe during the regular season, it is the home team that is responsible for posponing a game, before the game.

Does anybody know if this is what occured here?

So they can lose to the Cubs. Suits me.

Damn, I just posted almost the same thing you just posted. Great minds think alike except I differ with you about Game 7. I think they will pitch Wakefield on three days rest rather than start Burkett. That is, if it even gets that far. And yes, I can see them using Pedro or Lowe in relief in a Game 7. It's not like the Red Sox have a real bullpen or anything.

I think they will start burkett monday even though your logic makes sense to have burkett start 7 would be a heart stopper for us sox fans.

wouldnt it make more sense to start wakefield mon go with lowe on wed and go with burkett in game 6
