I'd like to see McLintock(sp?) run for senate out there and oust one of those biddies. Preferably the stupid one. You'll have to be more specific. If it is a rat it is stupid.

He never cheated on me, but constantly accused me of doing it. According to him I had affairs with everyone from the governor on down to the 78 year old man who had an office across the hall from me!!!!!!
I remember one night, after I had left him, I was attending a political fundraiser and he was in the bar of the restaurant. He publicly accused me of having an affair with a state Senator, not knowing the gentleman in question was in the next room with his wife, and both heard the accusation.
I laugh about it now, because it actually was a funny scene, but I was absolutely mortified at the time. The senator's wife, who I knew very well, diffused the situation and in the end only the ex was humiliated, when he was permanently barred from the establishment!!!!

Don't know about other states, but if a man is physically abusive, you won't do time for offing him unless it is pre-meditated, which makes it murder. Usually a woman walks away with a few years probation. It happened to a woman I worked with several years ago. She emptied a .38 revolver into her husband of 30 years, killing him instantly, then calmly called the police, and handed them the gun wrapped in a towel when they arrived. The left side of her face was bruised, her eye was blackened, and the neighbors told the police he had been beating up on her for years. She got 5 years probation, and remarried within the year after she buried the abuser. It is assumed that the new husband will never be so foolish as to hit her...

here's the whole thing:
BOTTLE OF WINE
Tom Paxton
Chorus:
Bottle of wine, fruit of the vine,
when you gonna let me get sober.
Let me alone. Let me go home.
Let me go back and start over.
Well, I've rambled around this dirty old town
singing for nickels and dimes.
Times getting' rough. I can't get enough
to buy me a little bottle of wine.
Chorus
Well, little hotel, older than hell,
cold as the dark in the mine.
Light so dim, I had to grin,
I got me a little bottle of wine.
Chorus
Well, the preacher will preach and the teacher will teach.
The miner will dig in the mine.
I ride the rods, trusting in God,
huggin' my little bottle of wine.
Chorus
Well, pain in my head, bugs in my bed,
pants so old that they shine.
Out on the street, I tell the people
I meet to buy me a little bottle of wine.
Chorus
Bottle of wine, fruit of the vine,
when you gonna let me get sober.
