He never cheated on me, but constantly accused me of doing it. According to him I had affairs with everyone from the governor on down to the 78 year old man who had an office across the hall from me!!!!!!

I remember one night, after I had left him, I was attending a political fundraiser and he was in the bar of the restaurant. He publicly accused me of having an affair with a state Senator, not knowing the gentleman in question was in the next room with his wife, and both heard the accusation.

I laugh about it now, because it actually was a funny scene, but I was absolutely mortified at the time. The senator's wife, who I knew very well, diffused the situation and in the end only the ex was humiliated, when he was permanently barred from the establishment!!!!

Oh, awful! I'm glad he ended up looking like the ass**** he certainly was.

My ex wasn't into public scenes as a rule, but under the influence of too much alcohol, he would act out in public. Really embarrassing. Once, he bragged about his new mistress to me when we were eating dinner at a very nice restaurant after we had separated, supposedly to discuss a possible reconciliation. He made all sorts of comparisons unfavorable to me, from age to the fact that I was too skinny for his taste. When I reminded him that this was risky behavior, he said he wasn't worried about my making a scene, because he knew I was too much of a lady to do such a thing. Since we had come in separate vehicles, I stood up, dangled my keys in his face, smiled, and whispered that I was leaving, and I would key-scratch his brand new truck on the way to mine. When he tried to jump up and grab me, I reached across the table and overturned his platter of food into his lap, ran out to the parking lot, got into my truck and drove away. I wouldn't be so petty as to scratch a nice new car, especially since some of my money had gone into buying it, but he didn't know that. That is the worst scene I have made in public in many years, and it still makes me feel good to think about it.
