My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guides we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and I... And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight... Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair... bentfeather©

Thanks for posting this Flurry. It's a poem that tells it like it is.

Thanks. I'll listen to a vet talk about war but not a lifetime civilian. I know older vets who lost sons in Viet Nam. I lost friends and have a few that still carry it with them. This is true of any war. The big difference is how the soldier is treated. I was called a baby killer at LA Airport while returning from a TDY in Riverside to Kansas. One thing all vets I know agree on is that there is a fine line between putting down a war and putting down a soldier. One must never cross that line.

Their insecurities seep
from frayed
patches.
That's so sad SAM. Neat poem, good music today.

miles away on the road of life
we met for a common cause,
we parted sure we would meet again,
closer now in spirit
we came together to unite with new friends,
we parted unsure of when we would meet again
mountains, time zones and months between us
we talk, tease and flirt, can't hurt
we're miles away
when we meet yet again
it will be for ourselves
will we come together for our own cause
before we part again
or will we be miles away?

On the Road Again is perfect!!
Except I am a flier!! LOL
To: SAMWolf
Sam, Love the poem you chose for today. Precious, indeed.
To: Darksheare
I can't sing either....I've heard my attempts at it referred to as "catterwhauling". LOL!
Painting is waaaaaaay beyond my skills. I can sketch well enough to draw up designs for stained glass panels and that' about my limit. *sigh* Ya either got it or ya don't. hehe.
I get "inspirations" for designs in odd places. I'll spot something while cruising down the raod and "bing!", I get an idea. I keep a small notebook in my purse so I can jot down a rough sketch, then draw up the actual design later.
One rose design came to me while I was "indisposed" one day.....it was inspired by the pattern on Charmin bathroom tissue, of all things! LOL!! Turned out fairly nice, if I do say so.
Yep, we have to take inspiration for any kind of art where and when it comes. As long as it works, I have no complaints. hehe.

Hope you're feeling better, ms. feather. Colds are no fun at all. Maybe a couple of pics of AudreyIII's blooms will will perk you up?
I really was disappointed that the blooms didn't open while you were here. They're pretty enough in pictures but to see them first hand makes a big difference.
Here's a shot taken from the front side of a bloom. (Lit by a flashlight)

And from the backside.

And here's a shot of the plant with three blooms open at once.

It's a shame the blooms only last one night. They're sooooo gorgeous.

Thank you for the compliment on the poem feather.
We'll have to have someone do a song about "in the air again".
I've been a flier lately, but I'll admit it still scares me! No control up there like I think I have behind the wheel of a car!

My grandfather did ceramics and other glass related things.
(He also did wood carving as well as painting, but I have no talents in those areas. Didn't inherit that skill.)

Wrote and sent this via Email to daughter this morning. She loves it and said I can share it.
Saras Wedding
"Daddy I dont know these folks",
You whispered quietly.
"Dont fret sweetie its OK,
Theyre staring straight at me".
You laughed, we walked, and smiled a lot.
The crowd basked in your glow.
Up front there stood a handsome man,
Enjoying this, your show.
I briefly stood between you two,
The love coursed through my heart.
I sat down and watched in awe,
As your new lives did start.
Jay loves you and you love him,
So keep that love for good.
Treat each other with respect,
The way that couples should.
I love you both with all my heart,
And pray for you the best.
Im glad the weddings over now,
I hope to get some rest.
