AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 977) [Davis Death Watch - 13 Days to Go!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | September 24, 2003 | All of Us

Posted on 09/24/2003 4:04:58 AM PDT by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!!

Remember the Trade Center!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

In the Assembly of the State of New York, there is legislation that would ban smoking in cars if there are kids on board, and at public beaches and in parks.

A Gallup poll shows that two-thirds of Iraqis say the removal of Saddam is a good thing.

And Barbara Streisand has said the songs that she had produced over the years are "boring."

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

I've started to read the article about Al Franken, but not sure I'll finish. I got my dose of him when I listened a few minutes on Saturday morning to an NPR show he was on. What a loser! A losing loser, even.

Good Morning. Another great smorgasboard of 'toons this morning, bmw. I always enjoy this morning contribution of yours.

I have an appt with a Pain Management Doc this afternoon. He is a neurologist with poor bedside (chairside) manner. If things do not go well today I will ask my OS to find me a new PM Doc.

Harvest continues at a steady pace. The fellas are faring well and have been in the house by 10:00 each night. The pace will pick up a bit in October as they hurry to finish up so they can chase deer up and down the Mts. of the White Nat'l Forest in CO.

For once, I agree with Babs Streissand! No one grab a song by the throat and wrestle it into submission quite like her.

You asked about that chili I made yesterday. No, it didn't have beans and nothing that was really a substitute. It had hamburger, hot dogs, green peppers, salsa and spices.

The zucchini lasagna does sound better, but I think zucchini is fairly high in carbs. At least squash is and zucchini is a kind of squash, isn't it?

Congrats on losing 10 lbs. It is too bad you can't exercise. It really helped me when I did the diet to start walking and later to play a lot of basketball. Exercise on Atkins seems to be so much more effective than when not on Atkins.

For some reason half this thread is not loading onto my screen so forgive me if this is redundant.

Heard on O'R last night that the DNC has hired Al Franken to host the after debate party.

You seem to have misdirected some replies to me. I am in the dark as to your intent.

Mr.M thanks for that Chilli info. My Adkins book lists zuchinni as having 5.7 carbs per small one.

On another matter, they still haven't determined if the mailbox bomber is sane:

Helder to undergo more competency testing
The man accused of a five-state bombing spree will have four more months of evaluation.
By COLLEEN KRANTZ
Register Staff Writer 09/24/2003

Experts will spend at least four more months deciding whether a man accused of placing pipe bombs in rural Iowa mailboxes is mentally fit to stand trial.

Luke Helder, 22, of Pine Island, Minn., is being evaluated at the Federal Medical Center in Rochester, Minn.

He is charged in federal court in connection with last year's five-state pipe-bombing spree that injured six people.

During a hearing conducted by telephone conference call Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Mark Bennett said he would allow until early next year for the continuing competency evaluation.(snip)

You have mail.

Did you know two teams wrapped up their divisions in baseball last night? The Mariners are now on life support and will probably be eliminated in a day or two. That's harsh considering they had the best record in the American league as late as the middle of July (I think).

But I'm happy for the Cubs taking over 1st place. Like a lot of people in this country, I'd relish a Cubs - Red Sox World Series so I guess that's what I'm hoping for now.

That lawsuit by Fox and O'Reilly against Al Franken has never struck me as a smart move. After hearing Al Franken talk about it, I think it did nothing but boost his book sales and give him more fodder. He claims that their case was literally laughed out of court by the judge who said it had absolutely no merit.

Thanks to all for the great responses!

Mr.M.- I'm a cold turkey type too. (that doesn't sound too flattering, hmm) In fact, I have to make myself eat because this has completely taken away my appetite...mostly because it eliminates everything I really like.

JRandom - Being as how you do not need to lose weight, why are you doing/reading Atkins? Just your professional interest in food??

IG - Regarding "clean" I think I might have made a mistake last night for dinner. We had smoked sausage, but it had only 2 carbs per 2 oz. I didn't read my book thoroughly before loaning it out. I'm tired too...and kind of shakey.

Miss Marple - We have lots of salad, it's just that the greens, veggies, cheese and egg don't have many carbs. I am still a rookie at this so hopefully, after induction, I will be more creative.

lysie - Yea! I'd fight someone for just one Nestles Morsel about now.

Kay - When do you sleep?
