Alanis Morissette shocked fans when she ended her first gig in Peru by shouting: "Thank you Brazil!"
Morissette made the mistake in front of a 14,000 crowd at the Monumental Stadium in Lima.
She was criticised by a number of Peruvian newspapers but some were more forgiving.
Newspaper Ojo said: "We have already forgiven her thanks to her magical performance in which we witnessed a true rock star.
"It was the first time something like that happened over here but it must have been the emotion she felt for being in Peru."
Before the gig Alanis Morissette visited the Inca town of Macchu Picchu.
She will continue the Latin American leg of her Feast on Scraps tour in Brazil.

"It was the first time something like that happened over here but it must have been the emotion she felt for being in Peru." Yeah, either that, or she's dimmer than a 30 watt bulb.

In Alanis's case, I'd settle for the "shut up" part.
BTW, is "Feast of Scraps" a reference to her career?

"Why"
Hairs, stretch marks, tattoos
Why God, Why?
Stretch marks, overpriced accessories, Homo Harley Biker
Why God, Why?
What have I done to deserve this blue horror?
Surrounded on all sides with the Hell of Homo Harley Biker
Like a Lewis Carroll character, I'm wordy and alone
Why God, Why?
Leathers, hairs, Harley patches
Why God, Why?
Homo Harley Biker, Harley patches, tattoos
Why God, Why?
What have I done to deserve this blue disaster that is my life?
Surrounded on all sides with the Hell of Homo Harley Biker
Like a Lewis Carroll character, I'm wordy and alone
Why God, Why?
What have I done to deserve this blue misery?
Surrounded on all sides with the Hell of Homo Harley Biker
Like a Lewis Carroll character, I'm wordy and alone
Why God, Why?
Why God, Why?
Why God, Why?

Oooh, this is fun!
"Will to Live"
I feel miserable
Yuenglings make me ill
I feel miserable
Galomphkies tear at my foundations
I feel miserable
Pierogies are dragging me down to the depths of misery
I want to die
Is it because of Jagoff that I feel this way?
With the black rays of misery pounding on my brain?
Or am I lost in tale of Myron Cope, adrift far from home
I don't think so, I don't think so.
xsmommy Broke My Will to Live
xsmommy Broke My Will to Live
xsmommy Broke My Will to Live
I was getting better but then
xsmommy Broke My Will to Live
I feel miserable
Terrible Towels rot the flesh from my bones
I feel miserable
Babushkas defeat my purpose
I feel miserable
Chernina are doing their best to impale my soul
I want to die
Is it because of Jagoff that I feel this way?
With the black rays of misery pounding on my brain?
Am I lost in tale of Myron Cope, adrift far from home
I don't think so, I don't think so.
xsmommy Broke My Will to Live
xsmommy Broke My Will to Live
Oh God, xsmommy Broke My Will to Live
I was getting better but then

Rock star Alanis Morissette has blamed the effects of alcohol for telling an audience at the end of a show in Peru "thank you Brazil". The Canadian singer-songwriter told a press conference in Sao Paolo, Brazil, that she had been drinking before making the slip.
"I don't remember saying that. I think I was drunk," she told journalists.
Morissette had put on what critics described as a "dazzling" show for 14,000 fans in Lima on Sunday.
She is touring South America promoting her latest album Feast on Scraps.
Morissette, 29, sporting a new short hairstyle, said: "I usually tend to babble and that ("thanks, Brazil") must have slipped out on Sunday. But really, I am very happy to be here again."
Critics made light of her gaffe and praised the show.
"These are mistakes, that have already been forgiven after a magical night on which we witnessed a true rock star," said a review in a local paper.
Morissette's appearance, the only one she made in Peru, was described as "the first time a current international pop star has set foot in Lima".
Headlines in Monday's papers included: A monumental concert, Alanis rocked Monumental and The new spirit of Alanis Morissette.
The singer, who has sold 40 million albums, was invited by TV Globo in Brazil to record a scene in the soap opera Celebridades (Celebrities).
"I am very nervous," she said. "I don't know exactly what to expect, or how big my part will be, but anything that gives you that kind of exposure or participation is welcome."

Thank Heaven she's now a has-been. She and Sheryl Crow are two of the most celebrated nothings of the 90s.
