What will you do on Sept. 11? (Vanity)

Last year my children and I baked cookies and wrote thank you notes then delivered them to our 2 local firehouses and the police station. I was wondering what others of you did or are planning to do this year. I want this day to become a tradition for my children of honoring our true heroes and am looking for some creative ideas.

You should be arrested for having so many guys. Don't you trust the police to protect you?!

Congratulate her!! That base is AWESOME!! We go see the Blue Angels practice there every year on vacation. Last year I got every one of the Angels who flew that day's autograph. Hubba hubba!

I'll be working in the Operations office at the Coast Guard base.
I'm there every Thursday (sometimes more days) no matter what.
9/11 was the reason I joined the Coast Guard Auxiliary in Oct 2001.
I was too old to re-enlist in the Navy.
National Guard told me the same thing.

Weather permitting, we are going to fly America One from our back yard. Anyone in the area that would like to come out and see it fly is welcome. It is quite a sight. She stops traffic on most days, but Sept 11th it is really a sight to see the people react. It revives my faith in America really.

I'll do what I do everyday. Pray. But on 9/11 I'll add in prayer that God just see to the hearts of those that still hurt, to be grateful for our Nation, and for His hedge of protection around our troops as they cut off the fingers of Lucifer and kill his minions of Islam.
"As long as I draw breath, I swear I will never forget the sight of two people holding hands, and leaping from 108 stories above the hard concrete sidewalks that I myself have walked, gawking skyward at one of the wonders of the world. I will not forget them. I will not forget their fall, the spin that finally tore their hands apart as they fell forever, forever down that quarter-mile. I will never stop wondering what they said to each other in that last moment, or their cries to each other as they launched themselves to their deaths, having watched their friends take the same leap a few moments before. I will never forget what an unimaginable hell that their cozy office, full of coffee mugs and pictures of grandchildren, had become in order for them to make that choice, with the ruins of their friends visible on the streets so far below them."

I'll be making some introductory remarks before performing an original composition before the veterens of American Legion Post 88 here in Nashville. This is the second year that the post has held a memorial service in honor of the victims of 9-11. I am very honored to have been asked to participate.

Please tell your daughter I said
"Thank You for your service to our country."
To: w_over_w
Thank you for that. We need to remember. It's so easy to want to forget the horror.

Well, I started to say pray for our country but I do that anyway. I think an additional one at 9AM for the survivors and loved ones left behind a good idea.
That said, I also plan to keep the tv off because I don't want to hear the media hash this over and over and listen to all the so called experts.
To: StarCMC
I expect our kids' school will ask them to wear red, white & blue. If not, they'll do it anyway and so will I. Flags out front by the mailbox too.
To: StarCMC
Hopefully we will have a plane load of troops to meet. I plan to pray a lot.
To: StarCMC
Correction:
I am no hero.
Just a man, like many, who loves our country.
To: StarCMC
Of course..
